Honestly, get the collector armor, play as a soldier, and always use cover.

And biotic companions

Hold hands when crossing the street

Cover and explosives... And get some biotics

Solder -> incendiary ammo/disruptive ammo + conclusive shot
+ biotic in your team (Liara is best) singularity + warp
+ someone with overload

With incendiary/disruptive ammo and conclusive shot you have regular and electric explosion. Liara give you biotic explosion. Easy insanity
Brutes will fall apart like... some wooden box with fireworks inside and a little of c4 bathed in lava
Well... pretty much everything will fall apart in that way
