Hi folks,
so you can completely rename your character and your family which is cool on one hand.
On the other it will mean, that your Character will not be as included in the Universe like Shepard is, simply because you will only be adressed to as Pathfinder, your Title, your job, but never with your name... something personal.
There are many Pathfinders, so you're just a number, exaggeratedly.
You see this in MMO's, like SWTOR, where you're adressed with your class our plotspecific achievements, the Outlander... or DA:I, you're just the Inquisitor... but no one adresses you.
It's like ME1-3 everyone calls you hey Spectre... Human Spectre and nothing else. But it was not.... they said Shepard. They recognized you as a person, and so did the player, me at least. I found this to be a vital part of familiarizing with that Character, even on different playthroughs because the Universe didn't give you a number, but a name.
In ME:A, this might be impossible, as the devs cannot guess the Name you give your Character.
I wouldn't mind if they kept the Surname as uneditable, as this was something special to the Series.
