So I just met this guy who loves Mass Effect and has actually played the fucking game. We've spent the past two days arguing because while he agrees that Tali is awesome, he supports TIM(the asshole who can go fuck himself) and the genophage( which the salarians and the turians and the council can shove up their asses there is no way to justify neutering an intelligent species) and says that Wrex deserved to die in ME 1. I don't know whether to love him or kill him, I'm more on the kill him side but if I end up completely on the kill him side who wants to help??(Cuz u bitches leave my beautiful krogan alone!!)
Keep it clean people or don't bother to post at all. Wikia is family friendly project. Swearing and "industrial" language will not be tolerated.
Yo straight up murder that clown
Games are for everyone. Alone the romance options prove that. And who says a girl/woman can't enjoy a FPS or Action RPG has no clue. They have been there since the very early days and quite sucessfully on top... so it's just envy of their own insufficent capabilities.
But as Thessian stated, this is not swearbook or something like that. Emotions are part of every thread and post, yes, but there is no need to over-visualize them (new word oO?).
TIM wanted the Reaper/Collector Tech from the Base right from the beginning.
He played us and everyone else out straight from the start. Remember the Terminal Entries from Cronos Station?
So his methods are in no way acceptable. As for his motive..... again he was indoctrinated since 2157 and the Control-Mania was part of his manifested Indoctrination.
Arguing about it would be arguing which Ending is better/best/right .... so i stop that here.
It is undeniable though, that without TIM handing the Citadel over to the Reapers, whe would not have been able to contact the Catalyst, as he is only accessable via the Conduit in London, as the opening of the Wards can only be activated from the Control Unit where you argue with TIM and Anderson.
Nevertheless, the Ends never justify the means. And what he did on Sanctuary or Omega had nothing to do with the Catalyst at all. But then again, that was part of his Indoctrination. No pity here, he was a psycho all the time.
If there is any Krogan who needs to be saved, it's Uncle Wrex Urdnot. He is wiser, stronger and more reasonable than any other Krogan, and Citadel Councilor.
Even in his younger Age he knew that the Krogan must change in order to survive. And only he can make it happen.
Anyone who thinks otherwise, well might be someone who sides with TIM aswell.
The Genophage is without a doubt a mistake out of fear and desperation from the other races. But yet again we cannot measure how brutal it must have been at the time it has been released.
The Krogan Warlords threw asteroids on inhabited Planets and slaughtered each and everyone standing in their way with out means to be stopped conventionally.
Yet again it is Wrex and Bakara who show us that reasoning is possible with the Krogan.
For your friend.... well this is a game, isn't it? Everyone can play it the way (s)he wants. If that is his opinion, well give him a big 'WHAT EVER' look.
Might be best not to go on a COOP-Mode with him, at least not in the ME Universe.
Kudos yo you marolf.
I sort of agree on the genophage yet disagree on that. In the games, we see a lot of krogan protracted as aggressive and will kill you for standing in their way, but neutering them all out of fear is a stupid move and were it done to any council race, they would revolt and bitch. As for killing Wrex, that's stupid because he makes a difference. The Illusive Man is my favorite character in terms of villains but he's indoctrinated so, he plays you from the beginning and it's just no. But he has some ideals that are good. Very few.....
this dude is a racist asshole. even if the ME universe is fictional.
Everyone has a race they hate, so really everyone is racist.
I'm not racist, I hate everyone ;)
Serious note, I read the comics so during ME2 I did give him (edit: TIM) the benefit of the doubt, but as we learned more i hated more. He was a human supremacist fascist. He started his crusade out of hate and contempt, it was doomed from the start.
The genophage was a knee jerk reaction to a major problem, was extremely disrespectful to the Krogan race, but i also do sympathise with the Salarians and Turians. The Salarians you have to remember are a logic driven race. They don't deal in emotion, they deal in pure science. And scientifically, it made sense to do it. The Turians...look Garrus is a champ and i have respect for a few others, but they live by a strict militant discipline and really are 'bullies'...part of the reason why they clash with us so much i think. Humans and Turians are very similar races, excepting appearance obviously. Looking at all the dumb, crazy shit humans have tried pulling in this universe (experimental AI, the Thorian, trying to control reaper tech etc) gotta ask, if it were us with the Krogans, would humanity pull the same move?
I'd like to think not but i believe we would given our nature and history
No offense but your friend then has no idea what he is talking about.
While I think killing Wrex is an abnoxious idea, genophage was not really a bad solution.
To start with it was the Krogan who started the war.
The genophage was not directly killing the Krogan race. It only stablelized the Krogan population by controlling the birth rate. What ultimately led and will led to Krogan's fall was themselves. Instead of unifying as one race to maintain their species they fought themselves and sold themselves as Mercs. (But I cured the genophage cause I firmly believed Wrex and Eve would lead the Krogan race to the right path)
About TIM, if he was not indoctrinated I would've supported him too. (Not about human dominance though) His methods were horrific. But I firmly believe leader should not be a saint rather it should be someone who would risk hatred but get the job done. Council did no crap, they did not even try to take the listen. (Even with that Sovereign) Alliance was not doing anything about human colonies getting kidnapped until Cerberus (Shepard) did something about it. He at least did something, just pitty he got indoctrinated.
And Tali awesome.
What do you think?
