When do I persecute the other races or are ok with it? Or are we talking devs?

I don't think it's fair to persecute an entire race when only a handful of their government officials knew of the prothean device or that they were withholding information. It wasn't a handful of krogan who secretly tried to invade and occupy other planets. If it were who knows what would have happened.

I don't hate or dislike any of the fictional races. I just think liara and especially peebee are awesome. Well more peebee than liara. Ok just peebee.

The devs most certainly do, which is why I talk about their biases.

The yahg are all presented as brutes who want to kill everyone, when only a couple of them slaughtered a Council first-contact team.

The batarians in a whole are presented as human-hating, and who deserve no sympathy.

The geth at first are presented as evil and immoral, but that later changes, as does the way the quarians are presented. At first, they're shown as weak and discriminated people, yet in ME3 (surprise surprise, when Mac Walters gets in charge) they're presented as pure evil, with no redeeming qualities. It's even swept under the rug that you are responsible for killing millions of quarian children, should you betray them for the geth.

All the while the asari, whose governments are shown as corrupt and devious, keeping the other races down so that they could gain more power, they're presented as sympathetic victims, people who you should feel bad about, and just forget the fact that they alone could have given the galaxy a better chance to fight the Reapers.

Hell, ME3 basically tells the player outright, that none of the other races matter that much, since the only time the Normandy's crew and Shepard feel mortified and utterly defeated, is when Thessia is lost.

Yeah, at that point the krogan, the quarians and the geth could all have been killed, but oh my God the asari! They're sooooooooo precious, oh how bad we should feel for them!

Ugh.. want to burn them with a flamethrower.. make some fried squid!

As long as peebee is saved you can have as much calamari as you'd like. Kill all humanity. Wait, what?

There used to be a series for kids.... blues clues... does it ring a bell anyone? the answer was out there all along.

Of course the whole trilogy is soooo goddam antropocentric.. especially ME1... humanity here, humans there, humans hooray.... humanity everywhere.

In the End, a common goal was needed to truly unite the races....the fight for survival.... even Balak was reasonable^^.

I did found the Normandy Crews Reaction to Thessia a bit 'overdosed' ...

It is true that unlike Palaven or Earth they came down in brutal force, whiping everything out as they can use both dead and living tissue to harvest and convert it. This is the real tragedy and something that does not really come along in the cutscenes and dialogs.

You as the player know the truth about it... especially with Javik on your team..... it makes you think... goddam those idiots brought this on yourself ... and all of us.

It is not clear if we could have prepared better, if we knew about the threat right fron the beginning..... but then again we wouldn't have the games at all, would we?

ME3 showed that everyrace, even everybodies darling is flawed to the bone. And with most of the people have no clue about what is really going on, as information like this is always ultraviolet blue top secret on a not even need to know basis. Hell, even Aethyta had no idea.

Every game of Vid tries to make someone or some race more likeable to the audience then others..... only over time we get the infos to judge for ourselfs.

'Bout the Andromeda Asari... I call it out of all reason dev LAZINESS. Otherwise we would start something like the Indoctrination Theory on Asari.

Perhaps that was the build up for the asari or me3 used what had already coincidentally been laid down, I.e. The asari were close to perfect (which is why I really like peebee's reactions to her own people, she knows their imperfections and rejects them for it) snd then to not just show their fall but their own ruin was pretty impactful emotionally in my opinion. Out of everyone's mistakes theirs was huge and ongoing which damns the majority of their own people. Their pride was their ruin.

I still don't think the asari should be judged as a whole by that but then again everyone is free to have their own opinions.

I agree that it was laziness on the devs part but then there were a lot of examples of that which is a shame because it takes away from the game. It's probably way too much to hope they'd go back and at least change up the faces for the asari who have speaking parts. But whatever. Maybe they'll fix things in the dlc (doubt it)

No, the other races say:" What are you talking about? Asari look EXACTLY like us" So it's more than just a bit.

And interesting: Batarians also see them humanlike (First book)

About fixing... I doubt it to be that hard. IT is a small part of the game code, telling the character randomizer which pool of traits to choose from..... can't be that bad to copy some of the human face codes into this section, especially if hair and skin tone are changed afterwards....

Even Cutscenes only have placeholders, taking the visuals and outfit from the actual play data, well most of the time... where is my X5 that I carry around 24/7 in those cutscenes.....?

For the Batarians....

It must be their 2nd pair of eyes....... something the asari cannot 'copy' via mental conditioning.....

Funny thing, before the Humans showed up, only the Batarians and the Asari had 5 fingers per hand...... but Revelation was published 1 year prior to the Bring Down the Sky DLC that introduced the Batarians visually.

From the standpoint of offspring and species propagation, the asari are an evolutionary dead end for anyone but other asari.
