Ramblings of a bored human.
When I come across a game series as interesting as Mass effect. I find myself curious as to why some games in the series receive so much criticism. I have found some really strange excuses as to why Mass effect Andromeda is a terrible game. I disagree with this statement but to each their own I suppose.
Out of all the really strange answers. I found this one the weirdest. Which was that they hated the game because Pathfinder Ryder isn't the new Commander Shepard. I found this really odd because they aren't meant to be the same character. Shepard's background and personality is completely up to the player. This why ever choice even gives Paragon or Renegade points. It's how character development is measured.
The Pathfinder is completely different. Whether you chose play as a female or male character the background is the same. They are siblings who are trying to follow in their parents footsteps. One sibling becomes a researcher and the other a soldier. Their roles in the Alliance were relatively minor. This why when the player character becomes the new Pathfinder.
It is an overwhelming experience. One minute waking up from cryo. The next minute everything goes to hell and people die. Then suddenly responsibility is knocking on the door and slapping the Pathfinder in the face. They have to grow into the role which makes the journey interesting. As opposed to Shepard who is a natural born leader and was trained to make decisions that shake the galaxy to its core.
This idea that a game sucks because, it has the audacity to be different. Is completely ridiculous. So this my opinion. Anyone unsure whether or not to play each game. I say try each one form your own opinions. Instead of jumping on someone else's bandwagon. The only thing that matters is if your having fun.
