My BP always depends on the class/subclass (Novaguard is quite effective too) and how I wanna play it.
As you are refering to ME3 most of the time, my favourite BP are Marksman and Stasis with the Bubble evolution.
If it's Mass effect 2 I usually use warp ammo or Slam. Inferno and flash bang grenades are awful. I don't like energy drain as it only damages synthetics. Unless it's ME3.
If I'm am Vanguard in ME 3 my favorite bonus power is Flare. Though I did like that a Vanguard could use singularity in ME1
What's a novaguard?
You can build a full specced power focussed Vanguard, that charges in and uses Nova, Charge, Nova, rinse and repeat. Due to this mechanics you are surrounded by biotic explosions all the time so shield your eyes.
With a bit of training you can dance around banshees and nova them to pieces. Grab Full Serrice or Blood Dragon/Inferno/Arena Armor and equip a pistol with power amplifier. Packs a hell of a punch.
Downside is, it gets boring as you press 1 and 2 all the time and nothing more.
Almost all classes can be specced and played in various ways.
Infiltrators can be the best melee warriors, sentinels can become literally invulnerable, except for sync kills.
That sounds like my vanguard. Except that I use one of the Cerberus Phantom armors. Not sure the name but it boosts Biotics, melee , and weapon damage. The downside is that each boost is only 20,%. Though when you use charge,Nova, and flare in rapid succession who cares.
So how would I go about maxing out damage potential for my adept. The abilities that I'm maxing out are warp , cluster grenade, and singularity. Unless you have a better idea .
My preferences do not have to be yours. That's the sweetness of taste.
I cannot handle grenades, so that is the power I skip/do not max out.
Go for DMG in your skill tree. Pull is fun, especially the double pull evo. Plus this power has a cd of 1 sec, so almost instantly ready. It even staggers shielded /armored units and removes Guardian shields, so quite helpful early on.
Be the detonator. Your squadmates can prime almost everything.
From pure maths the full serrice armor plus the umbra visor provide +50% power dmg. The Cerberus Spirit armor does provide 80% boost in total, but only 30% power dmg and 50% in stats you actually do not need.
Again, when playing, preference is what matters. My adept used a pull/warp combo with energy drain for those nasty shield bearers, as it boost/refills my shield too. This is what makes it the best BP in ME2 prior to the suicude mission (no use there thx to barriers and armor, so switching is a good idea). And the squad primed too.
Unlike your other squadmates, Liara is unique as she can spam her singularity almost as often as your adept with around 2 seconds cd.
With her in the squad I ended up never using singularity myself, most of the time.
I wasn't going to follow you word for word anyways. Warp is the first power I max out. I usually go for the upgrades like expose rather than maxed out damage. Throw is only used for detonations as it does no real damage. Shockwave I typically upgrade to rank 3. This is my get the hell away from me ability .
When Liara is the party I lay down two singularities. Then toss a couple of grenades. Pull is mainly for dealing with riot shields. Dominate is used to take control of shielded enemies.
If I'm doing the Citadel dlc I change the bonus to energy drain.
However other than the Phantom armor or the dragon armor. I don't know any other armor choices
That said double pull sounds fun.
So far Vanguard is in the lead. I'm not surprised. Its my second favorite class.
I just read something that makes me feel better about my play style. I found a site talking about the different classes.
This person gives a brief summary of the class. Then in the next paragraph describes it's abilities and a few combo. Paragraph three basically tackles the question should I try this class. The next one involves each classes popularity.
Apparently they classify Adept as being a tricky class the Master. Mostly it was talking about how the lack of combat or tech powers made dealing with some enemies more tricky.
Meanwhile here I am sending Cerberus into orbit with pull or singularity. Armored enemies crumble beneath warp and cluster bombs. Throw or shockwave are used to know targets marked by the Scorpion. Into groups of enemies.
Care to elaborate your source?
From my experience and of others, ME3 has the greatest variety of combat efficient setups and tactics in the franchise (squad members included, as otherwise this crown would go over to Andromeda).
The Adept was and is not an easy Class to master and does lack the variety of abilities beyond biotic powers. Plus the absence of Stasis as a base power is not helpful either.
However, as the majority of enemy troops in ME3 is without defence layers, the Adept can shine with it's crowd control and ranged peime and detonation powers.
So the question is: do you struggle with your playthroughs. If so, rhen adjustments might be necessary. If not, why chance a winning team.
If you are bored by the same tactics, well be creative, try new things as ME3 is a very good playground to do so. But most importantly, have fun whilst playing the game. If playing a game becomes more of calculating the gravimetrical current of a black whole to boost your dps by 0.5 percent, it might not be worth it, unless this your preferred playstyle.
