If im being honest i hate Ashley. If you add her religious views with her narror mind. She sounds way to much like the conservative evangelicals that i despise in real life. I don't need to encounter it in a game.
Although i did kill of Kaidan once. I did this to switch Shepard from the good guy archetype. To being a ruthless ,vengeful character.
Nah didn’t think you were implying, I just read back mine and thought, oh damn haha, so no need to apologise
All My first playthroughs, up until the third came out I chose ash as my canon romance. When I played the third though her character really wasn’t believable as the second human spectre. Once I chose to save kaidan it changed the whole game for me. He suits the second human spectre role perfectly.
I prefer Kaiden. Ashley is okay, but I feel like between the two of them, Kaiden is more of an interesting character compared to her. Also, in ME3, James basically takes the role of Ashely, so it seems a little redundant yo have her then
Kaidan for me. I just always find him more useful.
Kaidan is just too bland for me. He's boring. Ashley at least has her space racism to make it interesting. Combat wise idk, I never really use either of them as squad mates
Disco they're human companions. I think they are purposefully boring. You have to make the aliens interesting. Or else their this foreign thing no one cares about.
Pretty much agree with most of what was said about choosing Kaidan over Ashley. He's a biotic and tech guy who can shoot and more willing to work with other races. Ashley can shoot and had some doubts about working with other races in ME1. I already don't bring Vega much at all, so I'd prolly have little use for Ashley too if I had saved her.
Her ME3 casual outfit is super cool, tho. If I played on PC, I'd get a mod for my FemShep to wear it.
I don't know that one's inherently better than the other. It seemed to me that most of Ashley's substance as a character is visible from the start, whereas Kaiden unfurls over time and with patience. So it depends on which kind of companion you'd prefer your Shepard to spend time with.
I would always say Kaiden, he’s ok as a person, but in ME3 Ashley calls the geth “blinky lights” or something, so no to Ashley
I usually save Ashley, and the reason behind that is because Ashley seems more real and more diverse as a character. In my opinion, Kaiden’s only notable traits are he’s an L2 biotic, and he’s in love with femShep. (I usually play femShep so this my experience). Kaiden’s sweet, but Ashley is more interesting as a character to me. I personally love the poems she’s memorized and recites sometimes, her relationship with her sisters, and the fact she believes in God, I normally don’t see that in a lot of games.
That’s just my opinion though. Ashley is just more interesting, but I can also see why people favor Kaiden as well.
What do you think?
