I'm playing as an infiltrator male Shepard. Should I save Ashley or Kaidan and which one is more useful in the long run?

Your romance
Ashley
Kaidan
Kaidan is more useful but Ashley is more interesting character wise.
I found Kaidan more useful than Ashley. Kaidan has biotics as well as Medicine with Neural Shock (useful for charging krogan). Ashley really doesn't do anything that Garrus or Wrex can't do. Recommend to save whichever one you like best.
If your in Le, Kaidan, if your in regular, ashley. If your romancing either save your romance but all In all choose whatever charcuterie you like best
Kaidan is better if you want to save an officer, a friend, and a lesser toxic person.
If you're a male and just a romance you can save Ashley but she's still annoying and that's about all she has to offer in comparison..
. My phone made a double reply
I think Kaidan gets knocked out more when he fights with me. Ashley brings more firepower while Kaidan has biotics but the main reason Kaidan is better is because iN ME2 he becomes a higher ranking officer and has his own squad. While Ashley remains difficult as a person in ME2 and ME3 and has trust issues.
None of my squads get knocked out, but I hate using consumables like medi-gel, and everybody plays differently. As mentioned previously, Ashley really brings no more firepower than Garrus or Wrex. With Garrus also having tech abilities, Wrex also having biotics, as well as Kaidan's tech, biotics, and moderate firearm skill, they all bring more to my table than straight-soldier Ashley. As far as the story goes, I've never saved Ashley so I could not say how she develops after the first game. For me, martyring Ashley clears the stain of her grandfather's actions from her family name, and - as you say - Kaidan seems to develop more as an officer.
I'm not comparing her to Garrus and Wrex. Ashley and Wrex have more firepower than Kaiden and Liara. Which is my point. I could care less tbh as for me the difference is miniscule. I win my missions regardless of who is in my squad and I don't play on easy. What matters more to me is the decisions they make.
Now if you think Kaidan is more fun to have in your squad due to diversity that makes sense. Kaidan, Liara, and Tali's firearm skill is virtually non-existent compared to the other three. Especially Kaidan and Liara lol. Kaidan and Liara are more known for using biotics and to me are interchangeable.
Ashley and Liara for me is as good as Kiadan and Garrus. Ashley uses every weapon well. So if you want a sniper and Garrus isn't in the team, you've got one. If you need some shotgun action and Wrex or Tali aren't there you're golden. Everyone makes different decisions, but I always switch up my team. I hate fighting with the same people over and over again.
When I first played ME1 Ashley killed Wrex so I didn't have him as an option lol. But I managed just fine and muched preferred Grunt in ME2. Now when I replayed it, I've saved Wrex and I think he's the second best Krogan in the franchise so it wasn't a bad decision. The only other sniper is Garrus, so I think snipping is Ashley's most useful ability.
And I think she's tougher than Kaidan and Liara who get knocked out the most whenever I play. This is how I rate character strength:
1. Wrex
2. Garrus
3. Ashley
4. Tali
5. Kaidan
6. Liara
But yeah Ashley isn't that bad seeing how she's capable of killing Wrex. But the reason I dislike her is the decisions she makes, like killing Wrex. And we won't get into why (no major spoilers) but I've had to kill Ashley more than once in ME3. But you never know that may entice this guy. Some people like edgy characters
What do you think?
