Like I said doomed to fail even if it have been completely bugfree and had no other technical difficulties. The only thing it did good and even better then the other games where having seperate ability cooldowns and its freeform combat.
I used to think the combat was better, but it's so mindless, you just shoot and spam powers without any thought, most of the fights take place in locations that are open and enemies are just wandering idiots (not that cover and good positioning actually matters) it might look superior, but when you dive in it's just not, you fight every enemy the same way, you don't have to worry about using the correct powers or anything like that, it was kinda fun the first time i played, but now it feels like a chore, also there's the stupid decision of making classes pretty much irrelevant.
But i'll give credit where it's due, the combat is at least good in the multiplayer since you can't have every power and if you try to go rambo you'll die easily, especially if you're playing alone, the maps are also pretty cool.
It's an interesting idea. But wasn't executed well.
Just shoot and spamming powers that explains the mass effect combat system in general. Two great abilities I wish the other games had is a controllable turret and backlash.
Not really, you had to think before you act, especially in 3, speaking from experience, playing by just using whatever without thinking can make normal difficulty incredibly hard, but having a build and using the right abilities on right enemies can make the game easy even on insanity, shooting and spamming powers only really work if you play on easy and even then the combat still has more depth than andromeda's.
There's the squadmates as well, in the trilogy they could make up for the abilities you lacked, in andromeda it doesn't matter at all who you choose, at least not for gameplay, they might help with some power combos, but since you have no control over them it's not reliable.
It was alright. Was rushed tho with a crap ton of bugs and glitches that had to be patched alot
It had two Abilities that I wish the other games had which is a controllable turret and backlash.
Poorly executed but the idea of being an adventurer exploring a whole new galaxy is so purely interesting.
It was alright it was a decent idea to get away from the milky way and the reapers but it was poorly executed
Mass effect Andromeda realpy doesn't fair well. When compared to the other games. The main villain in Andromeda are the Kett. They are a weak enemy. The Archon lacks any real personality. So all other Kett seem like mindless drones. The story in the secrets of the Ryder family questlihe. Specifically the story about the shady benefactor is more compelling. Sadly this plot was put on the back burner.
I find that I'm more interested in this plot. Than anything involving the Kett. I despise half assed villians.
What do you think?
