Could The Benefactor be another Geth off shoot operating under a single identity? Could they have stowed away on The Arks (even as software) to escape The Reapers? They were one of the few groups that knew The Reapers were real and were coming. It might explain a few things and a potential explanation how the Geth survived whatever ending to the Mass Effect Trilogy. (Plus it might explain concept art below)
Also other questions from Andromeda that need answering:
Who deployed The Scrouge?
Why do the Kett use Exaltation to reproduce?
Why did the Jaardan create the Angara?
Is Angaran belief in reincarnation tied to their “design” by the Jaardan?
Where did the Kett come from specifically?
Will the Ryder siblings be able to “cure” their mother?
The "Opposition" Jheln
The kett use exaltation due to stagnation and they come from Saarhesen. I theorized first that the benefactor might be geth but scratch that when I couldn’t come up with a motivation for them to want to help. But like everything else checked out like knowledge of the reapers, having the necessary resources etc.
Motivation could vary depending on the view of the Geth. A few I could think of:
Possible simple exploration or searching for resources. (Travel time between galaxies wouldn’t mean much given that they are immortal)
A contingency plan so some Geth could escape The Reapers. (Though why they allied with The Initiative rather than go alone makes this questionable. Though time could have been a factor and allying with The Initiative could have been the only way to leave before The Reapers arrive.)
Possibly seeking a fresh start for the Geth given The Initiative was at least trying to build a society where AI/Synthetic life would have a place. (Given that the Geth have limited understanding of organics and their reactions again makes this questionable.)
This is again speculation, but it still might be interesting if we see Andromeda again and potentially see the Geth there.
Wouldn’t SAM pick up on other AI Signals if the geth stowed away on the arks. They might have also been behind the quarian arks technical issues due to animosity.
True, but there might be a convenient plot gap to explain why they weren’t detected. (Limits to SAM, ability of the Geth to hide/remain dormant, or a countermeasure by the Geth on the Arks since they knew about the SAMs and maybe knew the SAMs’ limits)
Given the history of the Geth and the Quarians, if the Geth were behind the Arks troubles or if the Quarians perhaps stubbled on the Geth, it could potentially lead to a lot of trouble. (And could be a good way to introduce other plots to the story)
The human arks SAM was the most advanced so no chance they could hide there due to that SAM hasn’t the same limits as the other ones
Maybe, but those were just examples. There still might be a way the Geth could have remained undetected, given that we may not know all SAM’s limits or if a greater part of a Geth Consensus could have thought of a workaround in some way. Again, it’s speculative at best.
It would be fun if a Verner shows up in ME5 since there have been one in all the other ones.
Andromeda's premise was good, just terrible executing, it was the B-team, meh writing, pretty garbage voice actors and they were rushed and had less money so it was doomed from the start. i would like to see an andromeda 2 with the time and money needed to make it good
I think We wont get that since the first one flopped and all DLC scrapped.
What do you think?
