If they Do they need to keep their characteristics like the Kett being imperialistic and the Angara being curious reclusives. Can’t they be from the fringe of the Nemean Abyss since We don’t know anything about it basically which give them more creative freedom to explore since We know quite a lot about Terminus. They would need to retcon Terminus aswell then to include Saarhesen and Havarl or to place them in the Abyss

My idea of how this could be done is that the Kett are from the Terminus Systems and the Angara are a species new to space travel.

The Kett were just starting to explore space with a moon landing when a Terminus faction discovered their more primitive society and deemed the Kett as worthy slave labor to be captured. Over time however, the Kett grew tired of their enslavement and, with the Reaper conflict of ME3, they pulled off a Haiti and rebelled against their masters.

After the events of ME3, the Kett are now nomadic space pirates who are hostile to any who approach for fear of enslavement again.

Will you stretch out a branch of kindness or affirm their preconceived notion that all aliens will enslave them?

Meanwhile the Angara would be entirely new to space travel and are skittish, paranoid as to what space might hold for them. Focusing on Stealth and evasion, they scout the systems and learn that they are VERY MUCH not alone in the galaxy.

They assume that all alien life has the potential to be hostile and thus when encountering aliens, they enact something akin to Halo's Cole Protocol - go in a random direction and hope you escape, so long as you don't lead the aliens back to our home system.

Will you teach them that the council is accepting of new members to the citadel? Or will you teach then that it is best to be silent in the dark forest?

You also have to consider the Yahg and Raloi which by ME3 were entering their Space travel age.

Your suggestion is to retcon the entire kett species except the part about them being a nuisance to everyone. The angara were already wary and suspicious of any other species. I think angara first contact could be by a human-turian expedition group or even by a patrol when they entered their space.

If they go with the kett background you suggested their first contact would be with batarians since then the origin of their fear would have been explained.

Ea should retcon and redo ME3

What you are recommending would not be a retcon. And no they should not just declare Andromeda Non-canon just because it was a let down. (might as well declare ME3 non-canon because of the letdown ending.)

But it being a letdown led to work on it stopped and all future content canned.

If ME4/5 gets set before Andromeda, it wouldn’t make it non-canon.

Andromeda takes place in 2819 so anytime before then.

there is nothing saying that they couldn’t take plot threads from either Andromeda or Mass Effect 3 and incorporate them in future games except that it would require a huge timeskip if they were to Link em together.

According to the game, less than 1% of the Milky Way has been explored. It's possible that the entire relay network could have been mapped when the Big Shot was fired. Plenty of excuse to go scouting new places. Leave the Kett and Angara in Andromeda/Helius and lets start with a clean slate of brand new aliens.
