I know that this question has already been asked before me, but I want to know your opinion.
If we take only the original Mass Effect trilogy, and not Andromeda (since many were dissatisfied with it, as far as I understand. I haven't tried it myself), then there are several romantic lines in it. From each game, there were more and more of them. What kind of romantic companion did you choose for yourself?
I personally took Liara, and I'll explain why. Throughout the trilogy, Shepard and Liara shared a strong bond that only grew over the years. Liara showed interest in Shepard at the very beginning. She shared a "mind connection" with him, which, as far as I remember, means a high degree of trust in the Azari culture. She refuses to abandon Shepard during the destroying of the SR-1 Normandy, as well (which is revealed of course in the comics, but I also take this into account) she was looking for her, refusing to believe that she was dead. Subsequently, through Shadow Broker, she searched for information about the reapers, worried about Shepard's condition after her meeting with the Leviathans, and also supported Shepard in every possible way in difficult situations. But Shepard also did everything to help/support Liara. She helped her save Feron and destroy the previous Shadow Broker. Supported her after the Reapers' attack on Thessia. Well, the culmination, they shared a deep and tender moment before the battle for Earth (which by the way, at the end of "destruction" looks more logical, since they established a "connection").
These relationships are based on trust, self-sacrifice and loyalty, which in my opinion makes them one of the best and elaborated in the trilogy. I would like to hear your point of view too. Maybe you can supplement mine.
