The conflicts come from what changes ascetically. For example, if you have one mod that alters the barrel's look then you can’t use mods that do the same thing.

@Thehumaneldar that isn’t always the case since it seems some are just incompatible with each other.

All remnant Guns have the same function as vintage heatsink without taking a slot. Sweeper+ seeking plasma system and you are set for like everything

Sorry, I should've mentioned this was on the Ushior so it wasn't incompatible as a Remnant weapon. I could put Vintage Heat Sink on the Ushior but then Power Booster wouldn't be available and vice versa.

If it is that ascetic thing then... ugh, that is so unintuitive and doesn't seem to be listed or noted anywhere I can find in the game or on this wiki.

It is annoying, but how exactly does one pull off the visual change when one mod makes the gun blue and the other red? It's an issue of a code conflict.

But it is noted, though. When you bring up a mod combo that can’t work, the game goes, “This is not comparable. Please select something else before continuing.”

Furthermore, your post implied you were trying to figure out why you couldn’t do a certain mod combo so I was explaining why that is the case.

Sorry, that came off more confrontational than was meant. I was merely trying to convey that I put this on the developers that it's not clear why there is a conflict.

I also never saw any mention of "This is not comparable," text. The Augmentation simply wasn't in the list after placing one or the other on the gun.

I understand, and I should correct myself as I looked at weapon mods, not the augmentations. The reason you are not able to have both a Power Booster and a Heat Sink is that both are in the “Special.” category. I would also argue for Balance, given the heatsink gives you unlimited ammo and the Booster increases Power Damage when at full clip

Some mods can't be used together. You can place a beam emitter mod and a mod to deal extra damage with different ammo. Meanwhile can't stack multiple ammo mods together. So a gun can't deal extra damage with incendiary and cryo ammo.
