I always play as myself so my character is a straight male. I think Aria would have been great, since a kiss is as far as you go with her in the Omega DLC, I stick with Jack. I do wish you could take her advice and commandeer the ship becoming a pirate...

Which ship should you commandeer?

As best I recall, Jack recommends taking the Normandy SR2 and going pirate (not back to the Alliance). :)

@Shenachie so commandeering your own ship. That would be both easy and difficult. Easy seeing as you are the captain of the ship and Difficult since you would have to get the pilots onboard with that plan.

Easy - Correct, and since the ship originates from an outlaw group.

Not too Difficult - Joker's first loyalty seems to be to Shepard anyway, and EDI leans to both Joker and Shepard given she prevents TIM from reasserting control of the ship.

She only does that towards the end tough.

Sure. EDI's loyalty switches to Joker when he turns her loose. Their partnership is evidenced by their relaxed banter.

Lol - Shepard & Joker 'stole' the Normandy at least three times.

1) ME1 - from Udina's lockdown;

2) ME2 - from TIM/Cerberus;

3) ME3 - reclaimed from the deranged clone.

If we count Joker's intro tale, he's stolen the Normandy four times. If anything, Jack's notion is already late.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

In fairness, if they could open folks like Garrus, and Tali to romance, and introduce others, Joker could have been an option as well. (Hopefully, that would not teach EDI the definition of jealousy.) Joker could have given Kaidan a little competition, and certainly been an improvement over Jacob. Plus, Joker's condition would have been an interesting consideration for their relationship.

On the other hand, sometimes I think it's for the best Joker is not an option simply because - in my opinion - he and Shepard are already closer than they could ever be romantically. They hunted Saren together, he managed an unthinkable maneuver to get Shepard onto Ilos to save the Citadel; Shepard died saving Joker when Normandy was destroyed (Oops! Spoiler! :)), they braved the galactic-freaking-core together; Joker stole the Normandy again to rescue Shepard when the invasion started, and Joker delivered the commander in style to save the whole-stinking-galaxy. He has always performed the impossible for his Commander who literally died to save the best pilot in the galaxy. To link them romantically, could complicate and diminish the already strong bond between them.
