It has potential if they go the same route as the Fallout show (i.e. not have it adapt any of the games directly). But if they do a Commander Shepard story, it's more than likely going to fail, their first blunder being that no matter what gender they decide on portraying Shepard as, it's going to lead to people being unhappy.
A completely different game engine is another thing (as stated above). Frostbite clearly hasn't really worked out for BioWare, and it wasn't exactly made for animation heavy role-playing games either, but back when Andromeda was underway, EA basically forced them to use their in-house engine (made by DICE for their Battlefield games) rather than keep using what the BioWare team were familiar and comfortable with (Epic's Unreal Engine).
The next ME would be using Unreal Engine once again, IIrc.
I mean, sure, it's not explicitly forbidden by the guidelines. Although, I'd advice against posting too many links to videos in separate posts; that would quickly clutter the feed. A single post with the entire playlist would be preferable.
As for the Suicide Mission video, that whole strategy can be found on the wiki as well, so I'm not sure if it's totally necessary to share a video about it.
Are you driving into pools of water? The planet has Hazard 4 in some places, and that is enough to destroy the Nomad as quickly as it would kill Ryder outside.
Actually, the Genesis comic starts right after Shepard's death and the title screen, just before the Project Lazarus cutscene.
Like I said, it's more than likely a bug, since the files containing the original conversation are certainly still within the game files, but Genesis takes priority whenever it's installed. Before the LE, it would need to be uninstalled to remove its effect on the opening, but now with LE, only those on PC can access the original opening by using mods.
Might be a bug of some kind. I'm quite certain that the scenes are still within the game files, but the Genesis DLC overwrites it (before LE, you'd need to uninstall the DLC to not have it affect the opening). But in LE's case, there are mods that restore the original opening, if you're playing on PC.
Are you playing the Legendary Edition, or have you the Genesis DLC installed on an original ME2 version? The dialogue between TIM and Miranda defaults to one where your decision at the end of ME1 is not discussed, as the Genesis DLC allows you to change things within the comic, or in LE's case, simply watch it as a recap of ME1 in the case that you played it first.
I honestly don't see a way for the Reapers to actually come back. The corpses strewn around in the teaser trailer are, imo, an indication that the Reapers are gone for good, and that there's some new threat that's central to the game's story.
The other teasers make it seem like something to do with "defiant humans", which, if done correctly, could work well in both cases where Shepard is brought back or stays away (dead from natural causes or otherwise).
This is pure speculation, but I could see said "defiant humans" as a group of fanatics who have turned Shepard (either alive in the Andromeda galaxy thanks to the "Ark Six" mentioned in the first teaser, or just simply dead) into a messianic figure ("The Shepard" from the ME3 post-credits scene), and they are defying the Council by creating a mass relay that links Milky Way and Andromeda together.
I could see these humans as one of the antagonists of the next game, though I suspect that the Kett and the Remnant (Jardaan) will play a bigger part, regardless of Andromeda's shortcomings.
Oh yes, that is the one thing I would not accept under any circumstances if they do decide to bring Shepard back. They either bring them back as well as all the other fan favorites, or they keep them all away (and dead by the time of the fifth game), Shepard included.
The thing about making one of the endings canon versus a romance is that in the former case, it's not a simple matter of changing dialogue as it would be in the latter's case. I want to believe that BioWare would not be so stupid as to make anything more than ME3's ending (Destroy) canon, because literally nearly all the other variables would be as simple as changing dialogue a bit when needed.
Another thing is that in Control, the mass relays remain intact, whereas in Destroy and Synthesis they are destroyed, as shown in the teaser trailer. The lack of glowing eyes on Liara, coupled with the fact that in the Legendary Edition the "Shepard lives" Destroy ending was made the hardest to obtain, while in the original game the Synthesis ending was the most difficult one to achieve, it makes it all the likelier that BioWare has chosen Destroy as the "canon" end to ME3.
But I guess we'll see in a few years.
The fourth Dragon Age ("The Veilguard") is still upcoming. BioWare won't fully work on the next Mass Effect before that one has been released. It's similar to how Bethesda hasn't shown much of anything about the sixth Elder Scrolls game, even though they teased it with a trailer over six years ago. They had to first finish Starfield before getting to develop it to the fullest.
As for what the next ME is gonna be about. Who knows? The clues in the trailers shown so far make it seem like a direct sequel to both the trilogy and Andromeda, so probably a game that takes place in both the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies in the 2820s.
The new Dragon Age will reportedly allow the player to choose some stuff (probably the major decisions) from the previous games as part of the character creation process. I'd imagine that the same will be the case for the next Mass Effect, too.
The only thing I could see BioWare potentially imposing as "hard canon" for the game is one of ME3's endings, but that's it.
The mod notes mention that the interview becomes available only after Noveria.
On the note of Anderson's (and Keith David's) voice, he was played by another actor in Paragon Lost, same as Hackett. So it's already not exactly out of the ordinary for Anderson to be played by people other than Keith David.
^ Keith David is nearing his 70s. Anderson (especially if a younger, First Contact War Anderson would be featured) should be played by another actor, tbh.
Only ME TV show that could succeed would be one that has nothing to do with Shepard or the games. Make one about Anderson or something, then you have a POC main character, and his story prior to the games has plenty of potential for adaptation and further additions.
In the video clip it shows that the "I Remember Me" side mission begins when you exit the elevator. Have you completed that side mission before trying "The Fourth Estate" again? You might need to leave the Citadel and come back for a second time after completing it (the "I Remember Me" mission), but I'm not sure.
^ Oh, that Aethyta thing in ME3 is probably the most annoying thing. The "boyfriend/girlfriend" comment she makes while talking to Shepard was/is a glitch, but if Liara talks to her later, Aethyta makes comments that Liara and Shepard have "sexual tension" and are attracted to each other, specifically if you are not in a romance with her.
That's basically BioWare just showing the middle finger to players, trying to allude to their Shepards as being after Liara despite the player's decisions to the contrary. Painfully obvious developer bias like that really works against the character, even if there is not really anything wrong with her other than that.
That's just the way they decided to write Genesis, that "interactive comic". I always just skip it; it's not needed in any way if you play through ME1 first. They specifically make sure to have awkward and blatant "romance" comments about Liara in it, even if you never romanced her in the first game, but that's just her being BioWare's favorite.
It's annoying for sure, but the only thing to do really is to just skip that damn comic, lol. I wish they made it optional in the LE, since simply having that DLC installed makes the intro with Miranda and the Illusive Man much lamer than in the original game.
If they want to include Shepard without bringing them back as an actual playable character, it could be Shepard's offspring. An asari in case of Shepard/Liara romance, a biological human in case of Kaidan, Ashley or Jack, and then an adopted human with everyone else. Or then it's a distant descendant, in which case it'd just be either asari or human.
