@Lethal blade00 i don't get it either. My problem is choosing Earth at all honestly, it was a war of all organics, despite its true nature the Citadel is a place that represents everyone plus It would've been cool to fight there one last time, at least the final moments of gameplay are there.
I really don't like the ending since it's an ending for the trilogy, but i think i dislike it less than most people, i actually hate the mission more because out of all the cool ways it could've ended they chose boring London ruins, i get why but i think it should've been the Citadel.
My 2 biggest issues with the game are Kai Leng (one of the few characters i hate in games) and the doom and gloom tone which doesn't fit Mass Effect imo.
Besides that i think it might be my favorite, the gameplay is easily the best, there are so many great moments, it's a straight upgrade from ME2 in most ways (visuals are kinda bad sometimes in comparison to 2), after i played the LE and DLCs for the first time i started to love this game so much.
I'm replaying the trilogy rn and i'm hoping to figure out which one is my favorite.
I kinda wish we had at least one more hub tho, in ME2 you had the Citadel, Omega and Illium. In ME3 we just have the Citadel, it would be cool If we were able to go to Omega again after the DLC and go to Afterlife and have some cool little interactions, that being the area from the Citadel DLC helps a lot with that.
@Keulron i agree, the colors in 2 were much better tho, most of the colors in 3 look washed out or too saturated.
@Qioni Di Cuthah true, but Liara definitely knows that at least humans don't think the same way so she wouldn't have done that if Shepard had someone else as a partner, that's just not Liara, however maybe they didn't think this through and it's just bad writing
Is the gift actually a baby? I used to think it was, but after romancing Garrus and that moment still being possible it doesn't make sense for it to be a baby
It's on Mass Effect 3 guide page, i think you might be able to confirm if there are any in ME2 on the same page but for 2 of course
There are in 3, one of the pages here tells you the cut off points, i don't think there's any in 2 but it's better to confirm it
Legion since he wasn't DLC
That's really offensive
Temporary squadmates are a great Idea for ones that don't work in certain situations, also the Volus could be just on the ship, maybe as an engineer or something
Batarian so we have a punching bag in the squad
Not really related to what you're talking about, but one of my biggest issues with Andromeda were the aliens, their models all look weird, especially Salarians and Turians, even looks Humans look kinda messed up, the only exception are the Angara and Kett but it's the first time they appear so them looking weird makes sense.
Soldier with the right build in ME3 is pretty much easy mode, i would recommend Infiltrator with the Widow in ME2 or Sentinel, ME1 you can go with anything tbh, but if you have good aim, snipers make it even easier.
I'm not american, but isn't Harper a pretty common last name? I would say it's a coincidence.
Also if they were related i don't think there's anything they could've done with that, TIM is dead and Cora has no way of finding out that he was father or whatever he would've been, so it would be pretty pointless.
Tali again
Yeah, that's what i meant, those kinds of hubs would fit Mass Effect perfectly imo.
There's one Idea for a open world Mass Effect game that i think would be really cool though, a game set entirely in the Citadel, idk what the story would be, maybe you're a C-Sec agent, maybe a Spectre investigating some big threat against the Citadel or something else.
It definitely depends, i disagree on Red Dead 2 because the towns are pretty memorable and very different from each other, the areas around them as well.
I just feel like many games are making gigantic maps for no good reason, the last 2 Assassin's Creed games are some of the best examples of this, i don't think any game was as boring to explore for me, switching to a game that did well was Elden Ring but as great as it was it has many problems like repetition and the "magic" being gone after the first time.
Night City is great example of a good open world, content could've been a little better imo, but the level design and visuals are insane and it wasn't that big, you could probably find maps that size or closer in the 360 gen, but i think that's part of why it's such a great open world.
Frankly, i don't think Mass Effect would benefit much from being open world, imo the best approach would be a combination of 1 and 2, some hubs that are small with many characters, very detailed environments and a lot of world building from 2 and uncharted planets with side missions and secrets to find from 1 but improved.
I think a refined version of that could be great, my least favorite part of that was the terrain of many planets that were terrible for the Mako and the interiors which were pretty much all the same but at least they always changed the layout a little bit.
The open world i mentioned was more for hubs like the Citadel and Omega, i feel like smaller places are much better because they can be more detailed and also we become more familiar with them making them more meaningful to us, there are many open worlds that i don't remember anything about or care, it's the exact opposite for smaller places that have more personality.
What i want from a Mass Effect game is that style of combat that involves strategy, using your squadmates, power combos and all that stuff, i want that style of "open world" smaller but more dense and a good story, i don't care if it's a sequel either.
