From the perspective of the Turians they thought humanity at that point did not know any better since humanity had no way of knowing what was on the other side of the mass relay so they did what any advanced species would do to a seemingly unevolved race they hoped that by a show of a massive force the humans would back down and retreat but surprise surprise the turians got more than they bargained for because despite humanity not having as advanced ships as the turians they made up for their tactical prowess and the fight would have gone on if the Asari didn't offer to mediate and bring about a diplomatic solution
While Arrival was a bit of a slog fest but it was a pinnacle point for Shepherd during the war with the Reapers because they had no other choice but to destroy the Alpha Relay in order to prepare for the Reaper invasion and despite the system filled with thousands of batarians colonists shepherd was willing to accept the consequences that is if you played the paragon route
Alec Ryder may have known Shepherd when they were a rookie in the N7 program and might have been a instructor given Alec's background in technological engineering in handling certain military tech like being able to disable and dispose of explosive ordinance like how Shepherd disabled the explosives that Saren made the Geth arm on Eden Prime
Actually that sounds interesting and entertaining simply because the good cop and bad cop routine on a procedural crime drama basis would be very awesome to play
Honestly I like driving the mako and it does pretty well in most environments and has the armor and firepower to take whatever the galaxy has to throw at it I just wished I got to drive it in the later games because honestly the hammerhead may be a maneuverable vehicle but in terms of survivability it simply pales in comparison to the mako's versatility in environmental combat and traversing
I wouldn't necessarily regard the citadel council as a "hyper power" because that would imply they enjoy using planet destroying weapons like asteroid's and tungsten tipped orbital nukes. And in truth the council is very much like the UN where all the galaxy's member worlds come together and debate on the socio-economic climate of the various business related and political issues. So all and all the citadel council is not a hyper power and more like a political collective community that operates to provide for the greater whole of the galactic community
To answer why smara, morinth, and jack are the best for holding up the barrier mainly has to do with the fact they are classified as adepts which are the most biotically gifted in the Mass effect universe along with some of the sentinel class biotics like kaiden. As for the biotic power threshold it mainly comes down to their own physical and mental fortitude and their biotic amps for the asari who are the most naturally gifted require little maintenance and study for centuries on how to develop their biotic abilities. With samara and morinth being pure bloods their biotic powers are considered abnormal because of their genetic connection with ardat yakshi which is exceedingly rare as for jack she's been conditioned to handle more biotic power than any human and requires an L5x implant to help moderate her biotics or else she'll burn out her body which is why humans and other races train so hard because they aren't as gifted at handling the power of dark matter coursing through them like the asari can
Mass Effect 2 creative team wanted to put alot more storylines in but I believe the director at the time probably felt it would detract from the main storyline so he probably asked the team to include her but not to do much more due to time constraints which pretty much sums up why ME2 feels a little bare bone in some parts including some of the DLC
I believe the team who worked on ME2 wanted to include that storyline but didn't finish it in time for the release because they were all more focused on the storylines for the main characters and the main mission. While there are other missions but they all feel more like filler missions to raise experience and resource points because bioware wanted to keep their focus on the Normandy crew and whoever associated with shepherd so in short there were several mission ideas but not all of them were realized and were left unfinished by the time of game release
Mass effect at it's core is Storytelling and the way it does it is done very well is the reason why players keep coming back to it is because mass effect is a space opera on the same footing like star wars and dune only difference is your at the center of its story and it falls on you how the story begins and ends. Turning mass effect into an MMO is simply an insult because of the amount of time the developers put into each individual story that can occur in the Mass effect universe while an MMO can be fun for competitive play but mass effect is simply not built for that
Not every quarians are like that just think about it. If your people spent a century or two inside old and haphazardly put together ships with compromised immune systems and every other species treats you like a leper wouldn't you be desperate enough to want to retake your homeworld no matter the cost?
Honestly first contact war is probably the best to make a tv series out of because it has room for development and there's little risk of plot holes in the mass effect series because at that time shepherd and the other popular characters of mass effect has yet to make a full appearance other than Hackett and Anderson and Adrein Victus so I'd say first contact war would be a great prequel series if done right
As tempting punching Khalisah I may have found her I simply chose not to punch her because reporters even the most bottom feeding ones get validation from being proven right on certain subjects in khalisah's case the act of punching her only validates her assumptions on the alliance and council militaries about being biased and always resort to violence to solve their problems so she acts accordingly when we reach ME3 when she dodges then punches back losing any valuable support she would be able to bring in through her viewers
It's possible the exaltation process nullifies the effects of the genophage because the process genetically alters DNA at the cellular level to the point where their physiological make up is completely unrecognizable so it's possible the exalted krogan are no longer true krogan just kett with a very strong physical make up
Considering how the batarians treat slavery like a very normal part of their culture and willingness to use gigantic asteroids to destroy perfectly good worlds simply because they lost a colonial rights dispute not to mention the batarian backed pirate attacks on mindoir and elysium it's not surprising they are pretty much the most hated alien race in mass effect
