^ Possibly. With so few details it could be anyone’s guess the direction the game will go. I’m just throwing out ideas or questions that the game could potentially explore.
Honestly, they could go a number of different ways with the next Mass Effect game. The real issue is to reconcile the different endings of Mass Effect 3. Whatever endgame decision you make has massive implications for the galaxy and choosing only one ending as canon undercuts so many of the players choices. Mass Effect 3 is criticized for reducing three games worth of buildup and choices to just a few outcomes and if the next Mass Effect game disregards all other choices but one, then that might also have negative repercussions.
If BioWare can overcome that hurdle then they can move on to other possible story opportunities. One could be about if the Milk Ways species can utilized Reaper technology if the risk of Indoctrination potentially ends with the Reapers? What if dormant Mass Relays were activated/altered with the Crucible activation and potentially dozens of new species have access to the rest of the Milky Way galaxy? (Or at least know where a gateway is) What political changes might have occurred if the setting is further in the future? Would the hinted Dark Energy issue be a threat to address? Will AI continue to be a potential civilization ending threat? What about threats from outside the galaxy? Would the Kett come to the Milky Way? Could the Jaardan come to the Milky Way? And if so what might be their intentions? Some early art implies that the Geth may endure regardless, if so how? And what might they do? (If the Destroy Ending was chosen, I can’t imagine they would see organics as anything other than enemies.)
These I think are all great questions to explore.
I’d be more interested on the series focusing on past events like the First Contact War and characters that participated. Giving visual narrative context for some characters and events would be interesting.
I recommend playing every class in Mass Effect at least once. If nothing else it gives you a chance to experience all the different utilities of all the classes. We all have our preferred play styles, but it might be fun to get out of your comfort zone and try something new.
Gotta love Natalie Dormer voice for Lexi.
I honestly go with Reave more often than Barrier as a bonus power in ME2. Barrier is great as a panic button or to cover yourself while under fire, but the cooldown time can be a real hinderance with global cooldowns on all powers. Reave gives you some protection when used on organic targets and gives you a chance to hit targets that you can’t reach with Charge. (Or if using Charge is too dangerous) Vanguards with Reave can more often use both close and long ranged abilities to take care of a variety of situations.
Geth Plasma Shotgun is my choice for shotguns because it again has more options. Uncharged shots give you more numerous and greater frequency of shots than the M-300 Claymore before you have to reload. (Great for a lot of small fry enemies) Fully charged shots can be more powerful than the M-300 Claymore even if it takes longer to build up the charge.
Honestly, I chose Synthesis Ending more often because it seemed like the right thing to do. Legion sacrificed itself for the Geth and EDI is Shepard’s friend, any ending that can spare both is the one I’m most likely to pick. The Control Ending also spares both, but it seems like it doesn’t honor the sacrifices characters made and doesn’t have as bright of future.
One of the ways for all games is to make a decision early on whether you want to be a Paragon or a Renegade. Many choices require a certain amount of points in either category and the quicker you can reach that amount the easier you can avoid some fights or have the ending you want. Examples include: talking Saren down in ME1, paragon dialogue in Tali’s trial in ME2, or inciting the crowd in Tali’s trial (if you sent Veetor to Flotilla and saved Kal’Reegar).
^ Yeah I get that, but I meant scenarios where each Class might have a moment to be exemplified. Like a moment where the cloaking ability of the Infiltrator might come up to take down an opponent in a stand off or the Tech Armor of a Sentinel might help protect a hostage. It might be nice to reference the actual class a player chooses rather than say a brief mention that they are a biotic. (Like Kaiden does when you see him in the hospital)
^ Not to mention if you have the Omega DLC in ME3, you get a unique Paragon Interrupt that reflects the abilities of the Engineer Class.

I don’t know why they only made a class specific interrupt moment only for Engineers, but I hope they put more moments like this for all the classes in the next Mass Effect.

Maybe, but those were just examples. There still might be a way the Geth could have remained undetected, given that we may not know all SAM’s limits or if a greater part of a Geth Consensus could have thought of a workaround in some way. Again, it’s speculative at best.
True, but there might be a convenient plot gap to explain why they weren’t detected. (Limits to SAM, ability of the Geth to hide/remain dormant, or a countermeasure by the Geth on the Arks since they knew about the SAMs and maybe knew the SAMs’ limits)
Given the history of the Geth and the Quarians, if the Geth were behind the Arks troubles or if the Quarians perhaps stubbled on the Geth, it could potentially lead to a lot of trouble. (And could be a good way to introduce other plots to the story)
Motivation could vary depending on the view of the Geth. A few I could think of:
Possible simple exploration or searching for resources. (Travel time between galaxies wouldn’t mean much given that they are immortal)
A contingency plan so some Geth could escape The Reapers. (Though why they allied with The Initiative rather than go alone makes this questionable. Though time could have been a factor and allying with The Initiative could have been the only way to leave before The Reapers arrive.)
Possibly seeking a fresh start for the Geth given The Initiative was at least trying to build a society where AI/Synthetic life would have a place. (Given that the Geth have limited understanding of organics and their reactions again makes this questionable.)
This is again speculation, but it still might be interesting if we see Andromeda again and potentially see the Geth there.
Could The Benefactor be another Geth off shoot operating under a single identity? Could they have stowed away on The Arks (even as software) to escape The Reapers? They were one of the few groups that knew The Reapers were real and were coming. It might explain a few things and a potential explanation how the Geth survived whatever ending to the Mass Effect Trilogy. (Plus it might explain concept art below)
Also other questions from Andromeda that need answering:
Who deployed The Scrouge?
Why do the Kett use Exaltation to reproduce?
Why did the Jaardan create the Angara?
Is Angaran belief in reincarnation tied to their “design” by the Jaardan?
Where did the Kett come from specifically?
Will the Ryder siblings be able to “cure” their mother?
Honestly, anything would be welcome. I don’t know if it will be substantial given that BioWare’s Dragon Age Dreadwolf isn’t out yet, but given that BioWare just handed the reins of Star Wars The Old Republic to another studio, it might mean a change in priorities. Let’s hope for something that might give us some idea of the next story to be told.
Agreed
I believe the Andromeda connection is still speculation from the above concept art with the figure second from the left resembling an Angara.
