ME: Andromeda
How is a game from 2017 doing worse in the facial animations department (one of the biggest priorities in an RPG, dialogue-heavy game) than a game MORE THAN 10 YEARS OLDER?
I'm currently slaving away at Mass Effect: Andromeda and just a few days ago I realized that I started a new playthrough of the triology then forgot about it for almost 2 months, right before I started at my new job with 12 hour shifts on a 3x3 work schedule. Literally my last save was inside Udina's office right after the first meeting before heading to Citadel Tower. Got back to playing ME1 proper and realized that a game from 2007 has better facial animations than Andromeda. How? Just... FUCKING HOW?
I remember when I first started playing Mass Effect in general, I was put off by the facial animations and had to constantly remind myself of it's release date. It's simple beautiful irony that in ME1 I was constantly second guessing my romance with Liara due to her almost robotic expressions, and now in ME:A I'm constantly second guessing my romance with ANYONE. So far I narrowed it down to Vetra and Cora for different reasons, and none too deep because my opinions on ME:A's characters aren't the highest (literally most of then are like a low budget version of a character from the triology), and I've been flirting with both often enough to 'cause dialogue between the two refering to it (something I have NEVER done in any RPG game, let alone Mass Effect) but I still feel like... holy shit those faces... Cora herself oftentimes looks like an actual psychopath.
In a normal situation I'd say this is the least of concerns in the game, given MANY others which I'll save for after the game ends and I finish any DLC there may or may not be (I heard tales of some Citadel-focused DLC in ME:A that is filled to the brim with fanservice for triology fans, but no mention of it in-game). However, again, this is an RPG dialogue-heavy game which means constant focus on those Patrick Bateman-looking mfs while they try to look remotely alive and feeling.

I am so furious I cannot even think my game bugged out and the nomad keeps randomly flying up spinning then exploding on kadara since it is needed for the final mission and without it getting around takes much much longer I don't even know how i'm supposed to keep playing apparently when this bug sets in and infects all your saves apparently the best option is to reread do the whole game even though it there's apparently no guarantee this won't happen again and there's no fix for this any input is this welcome thanks.
Haii I recently got Andromeda (mainly for the lore and combat) and was wondering who to romance. I'm sad I can't romance any Quarians so I was wondering who to romance after my recent refresh of playing the OG series again (fem paragon shep playthrough). Should I do Saren's daughter (Vetra Illusive man's daughter (Cora), asari, or someone else?
Nomad keeps exploding on kadara I have tried everything I can think of and it is driving me crazy any help would be appreciated.

I just finished my first (and likely only) playthrough of Andromeda, and while it was an interesting time I understand all of the criticisms it received. The one thing that I took away from my playthrough was the way they connected the story to the original trilogy by using the “Benefactor” as an anonymous figure who helped fund the Andromeda initiative to get humanity and the council races out of the Milky Way to “save” them from the Reaper invasion. The only person in the Milky Way who I’d think could be the Benefactor that would make sense lore wise is the Shadow Broker or the Illusive Man. Especially if the implications of Cora’s last name (Harper) of her being TiM’s daughter are true, it gives him even more motivation. Who do you all think is/would turn out to be the Benefactor in a now canceled Andromeda sequel?

What am I missing with the Power Booster Augmentation on a weapon? It seems as if it locks out several other types of Augmentation which don't seem to be listed as conflicting in the current Wiki entry. In particular I wanted to put Power Booster on the Ushior with a Vintage Heat Sink.
Mass Effect Andromeda was two things - a major letdown and something that broke franchise lore heavily.
But since we are supposedly getting a sequel to Mass Effect 3, I cannot help but wonder if BioWare should reuse the Angara and the Kett from ME Andromeda, but with new context?
By making ME Andromeda non-canon, they can reuse the Kett as a Terminus system race of nomads that are upstarts in spacefaring and are a nuisance for most, making it rare for a Kett to be reasonable with alien races.
Meanwhile the Angara could be a new race that had discovered the Mass Relays just as the Reaper Invasion had begun and their people bore witness to the intergalactic war. Seeing all these species waging war as their introduction to the wider galaxy, they are more skittish and timid initially; wanting to avoid aliens for fear of aggression directed at them.
Just an idea I had.
So, it's been six years since MEA came out and I don't know if we will ever get a canon answer to their identity. We have (deliberately) vague descriptions of them and it's possible even BioWare doesn't know who they are because they put off the lore decisions until future games.
All that said, I think I have an idea (well, two) of who they are.
We know that the Benefactor has practically unlimited wealth to spend on moonshot projects. We know from the Citadel DLC that the Shepard clone was made by teams funded by an extremely wealthy individual from "leftover bits and pieces" of Shepard in 2185, which is the same year that the Andromeda Initiative launched. And we know that this Benefactor is really worried about the Reaper threat.
What if the Shepard clone wasn't the only clone?
What if TIM had himself cloned, his ego saying that he's the best to lead the future of humanity, and sent the clone to Andromeda? It would certainly explain the psychotic behavior, like killing potential rivals (Garson) and fits the facts above.
Or, we could spin that in the other direction, that TIM had himself cloned and left the clone behind. Maybe that's why it succumbed to indoctrination, it wasn't quite the real TIM and didn't have the original's force of will just as the Shepard clone didn't have Shepard's leadership skills.
(Note, just discovered a related theory here: https://masseffect.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000000337405 ). Similar ideas, but not quite the same.
So that's my fan theory, that the Benefactor is either TIM or a clone of TIM.
Why was an asari onboard the Human ark Hyperion? Why wasn’t she on Ark Leusinia like the other asari were? Don’t remember any other ark that had different species on it except
Keelah se’yiah.

So, I noticed that Andromeda will also allow you to pick which Shepard you played with just like the past games, but I was curious as to whether or not I could import a character from the Legendary Edition? Or is that not a possibility?

Just curiously, I suspect Eos or Kadara, Meridian is a bit confusing to me because I’m not sure if the colonists are living on the surface or not
