Disambiguous This article is about the mission that introduces the AVP feature. For the Nexus development points system, see Andromeda Viability Points. For the multiplayer currency in Mass Effect: Andromeda, see Andromeda Points.
MEA Journal - Priority Ops
Andromeda Viability Points lead to Perks that directly empower your efforts. Because as Pathfinder, you choose what is important to life in Heleus. Speak to Director Addison and her assistant about AVP, and decide what experts will shape and strengthen your Initiative.

Prerequisite: A Better Beginning

The mission is added to the journal after placing an outpost MEA Outpost Map Icon on Eos.

AVP represents Andromeda Viability Points AVP icon. This mission introduces Pathfinder Ryder to AVP mechanics and, upon completion, allows Ryder to access the system from the Tempest control room.

Speak with Addison on Nexus

Find and speak to Addison in the Operations wing of the Nexus in the colonial affairs subsection to learn about the AVP system. Each action Ryder takes to increase the viability of the Heleus Cluster will earn AVP, and at certain thresholds, Ryder will gain a Nexus Level and the opportunity to bring a new group of specialists out of cryostasis.

Speak with Addison's assistant Brecka

After speaking to Addison, talk to her assistant, Vladimir Brecka, a short way behind Ryder. He can give Ryder more information about the AVP system, and will direct Ryder to the AVP Status Control panel nearby.

Spend AVP to gain Perks

Interact with the console to bring up the AVP interface. Notice on the left that there is at least 1 Cryo Point available. Explore the three categories and the perks within, then choose a perk to spend the point on.

Spending a Cryo point and closing the interface will complete the mission.
