Fai Dan is the leader of the Zhu's Hope colony on Feros. He can be found near the crashed freighter. Fai Dan explains the situation on Feros to Commander Shepard, including details on the geth attacks. Oddly, whenever the other colonists are asked about Zhu's Hope, they all tell Shepard to go and ask Fai Dan, but he is still quite cagey on some subjects.

Along with the other Zhu's Hope colonists, Fai Dan has been infected with the Thorian spores but appears to have more autonomy than the others. The Thorian might have used him as a local 'controller' for the colonists, exploiting the fact he was their leader (therefore it's more natural for them to follow him anyway).
When Shepard's team returns to Zhu's Hope, hunting the Thorian, they encounter Fai Dan after killing or incapacitating the other colonists. Fai Dan approaches Shepard with a pistol, struggling against the Thorian's control. He laments the fact the colonists were infected, saying he was their leader and it was his job to protect them. He points the pistol at Shepard, claiming the Thorian wants the commander stopped, but before Shepard can fire in self defence, Fai Dan manages to overcome the Thorian's control and shoots himself in the head.
Fai Dan is voiced by Armin Shimerman.
