That's just a glitch, if you select a teammate to disable the AA guns, they tend to have a "protect" mark over them for the rest of the mission. It has no in game consequences, and "protect" teammate in-game just means "survive the alloted time period and kill all the enemies". --173.58.251.107 06:41, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

Ah, I see. Thank you, both! I understood why it would happen while a squadmate was disabling the gun, and wondered if it was a glitch that I saw it when I did. The more exciting interpretation (for me) was that there was a way to shield a squadmate who was being attacked during a normal battle, that I didn't know about. Disappointment! :) -Sophia (talk) 15:02, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

I was playing the Rannoch: Admiral Koris mission and was on the way to the third AA tower when this happened: Tali had fallen, and I revived her using medi-gel. While she was standing up, a Geth Pyro aimed at her, and then at me. The words "Protect Squadmate" appeared on her. I've never seen this before, and it disappeared before I could get close enough to her to see if it changed to an action icon. Could someone tell me what it does? -Sophia (talk) 01:04, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

I see this almost every playthrough, but by the time the tech starts approaching the second turret, all the enemies are usually down already. Great Mara (talk) 01:34, November 26, 2014 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I'm not quite following what you mean. Who/what do you mean by 'the tech'? Is the message related to the turret that can be mounted? It appeared for me at the start of the fight that happens once you're through the tunnel, heading towards the final AA gun (i.e. it wasn't the situation where one squadmate is at the gun controls, and Shepard wasn't near the turret). -Sophia (talk) 01:45, November 26, 2014 (UTC)
The person (or tech) you have deal with the first AA gun will move to the second after going through the hallway, but as I said, they usually hang back and don't start the unusually slow walk to the second AA gun until all of the enemies are dead. And you still have to choose who deals with the second AA gun. Maybe it's just leftover crap from where they planned on having whoever you chose deals with the AA guns move between them automatically, but I don't know.
