pointless for now. we don't really have even rough numbers for a lot of the conflicts presented in the ME universe. and even if there are, count the number of definite engagements on your fingers, that's it. not to mention the multiple-choice casualties. battle of the citadel for one. What Tempoaryeditor78 said. We haven't implemented such infoboxes (although I know of several other wikis that use similar ones) mainly because there are relatively few major conflicts in the ME universe, and of those we rarely know more than the name of the conflict, the belligerents, and if we're lucky the approximate years (practically never specific months and days) that the conflict took place. Locations and leaders can be iffy, and I don't think there's a single instance where total casualties are noted. There are simply too few details to make a conflict infobox worthwhile here, at least for now (perhaps any future ME games will be more generous with this sort of lore). -- Commdor (Talk) 19:37, February 25, 2013 (UTC)

I would like to point out that the Reaper War seems to have enough info to include such a page. --User:Shaknbac0n/Shaknbacon (Talk) 19:42, February 25, 2013 (UTC)

Possibly, but that's just one conflict, and one case alone isn't reason enough to warrant a new organizational template. Don't get me wrong, this is a good idea, but I feel that right now it's too early to attempt and it would do nothing that existing intro paragraphs couldn't do. It all comes down to the lore details, and if we had more to work with, I'd be more supportive of an infobox. -- Commdor (Talk) 19:49, February 25, 2013 (UTC)
the reaper war
date: 2186-??-??. date end: ????
location: all over the galaxy
result: MULTIPLE CHOICE (eventual victory 50,000 years later doesn't count; that's another set of belligerents)
combatants: multiple choice (krogan, quarian, geth armies may not join etc) + shepard vs reapers
commanders: shep, hackett, anderson, multiple choice commanders follows vs harby and friends
strength: again, multiple choice vs "lots and lots of reapers"
casualties: -we'd be speculating at exact number and we never allow speculation-

very informative that was. The reaper war can't be writen, because the simpel reason, that every player get their ending, their assets etc. and the other its just too litte informations, example Racni wars, little Krogan rebelion Medium. Geth uprisning little relay incident, medium, we don't know much currently, the new dlc i saiden to give more history so il wait, but til then, is it still to little information...--Perkins98 (talk) 21:02, February 25, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, it sounds like a nice idea, but there's really not too many conflicts we could actually use it for. There's the Morning War, the First Contact War, the Rachni War, and the Krogan Rebellions. That's about it. And for almost all of those, we have very little information. We know how they turned out, but not the numbers involved, casualty figures, not much info on individuals and locations, etc. And multiple editors here have pointed out the canon issues involved with the war against the Reapers. Must have missed this earlier, but I have to find myself agreeing. There just isn't enough information on the handful of conflicts to justify this. Lancer1289 (talk) 03:06, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

This is an issue where the fault is not within the idea of the proposal (which I actually support on other wikis), but the fact that there simply is too little information on military conflicts. The only one this would really work for is the First Contact War, and that was little more than a few glorified skirmishes.--Legionwrex (talk) 03:11, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

While I agree with those who have said we lack information to fill in some of the fields, let's not let perfect be the enemy of good. We do have a lot of information about these conflicts such as the major sides, a general (or specific) time frame, sites of significant battles/skirmishes/engagements, major results, and in some cases, notable participants and commanders. So, I think we can make some changes to this template and use it. If we don't have information to fill in a field, we can always say "Unknown." For the conflicts with variables such as the current Reaper War or the current Quarian-Geth conflict, we can include an asterisk or a footnote to denote variable events.

Also, while this is probably better suited for another projects posting, I have long thought that we need some sort of list of wars and conflicts. TheUnknown285 (talk) 18:09, February 26, 2013 (UTC)
