Project: Health points of companions

I suggest to add to all ME2 and ME3 squadmates informations about their initial protection level, which means their initial numbers of points of shields, barriers, armor and health. I think it should be noted how durable the squadmates are, if players plan building their squads for missions just like they plan, when they are going to play on Multiplayer. Not just powers, but also health points matter in gameplay. I know there are advices on class guides about taking squadmates for certain classes, but I think health numbers make decisions more specific and easier to make.
Currently developed by: User:FirstDrellSpectre
Developer(s) notes: Temporary squadmates like Wilson and Kenson don't count because we can't give them any points. Citadel DLC squadmates already have ranks 3 of all their powers, which technically makes their number of health points bigger and they can't be reset, so they should be noted as exception of initial data.

I don't think we really need the screenshots on the page itself. That said, I'm voting yes. TheUnknown285 (talk) 00:05, February 19, 2014 (UTC)

Screenshots serve for evidence of such numbers of health points. Everyone can write what imagines, but nobody can make a photograph of what imagines.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 07:06, February 19, 2014 (UTC)

screenshot evidence can be faked with enough know-how and malicious intent. however, that is not the issue here. plus they won't be allowed anyway owing to numerous standards violations. it's enough that they exist as references.
engrish aside, i'm assuming the intent of this proposal is to make it so that every squaddie who has them can have their initial health/shield/barrier values listed. the {{PowerTable}} template already allows for the additions with little hassle: all it needed from the start is simple community approval and competent R&D.

despite procedure being that projects should be allowed to simmer first before opening voting i'm letting this one slide. it's mostly got its act together, it's been around for a while on my talkpage. now, some observations.

any notes should be under trivia. the articles are written from an in-universe POV and gameplay notes aren't. however, listing powers and proficiencies (and then HP/barriers/shields if this passes) are already stretching perspective to say the least so in the end even i'm on the fence on where they should be. What Temp said, adding in-game stuff causes huge conflicts with the in-universe POV in the character articles. Maybe we should make separate pages for this stuff.--SolitaryReaper (talk) 18:48, February 19, 2014 (UTC)

I'm in favor of the overall idea, would prefer to see a "sandbox page" showing exactly how the information will be implemented/shown/displayed in the wiki. But assuming that turns out well then I'd be in favor. Cattlesquat (talk) 03:07, February 19, 2014 (UTC)

(same opinion than Cattlesquat) I'm also in favor but could you make a sandbox for one of those character to see what you have in mind please? Thanks in advance Drell ;) --DeldiRe (talk) 10:20, February 19, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the sandbox. I will support you even if Temp as a point with the issue (in-u versus gameplay content).--DeldiRe (talk) 15:24, February 19, 2014 (UTC)

fair warning: i will be deleting the pictures if they remain unused after two days. they're unusable in mainspace, meaning they 1) count against the user image limit, and 2) must be placed somewhere not there. evidence is well and good, but hardly necessary in this case. I think about adding their health points to Squadmates guides, not just to their pages, so the guides would give more informations to players and help them in selection of squadmates for missions.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 18:30, February 22, 2014 (UTC)

then you should have thought about it BEFORE putting the proposal to a vote. this is the reason why discussion is mandatory for any proposal before opening any voting.
for now, if this proposal passes you're only allowed to plug in the values on the characters' pages. make an amendment a full week after this proposal's resolution. and for your sake make sure you hash everything out before opening voting again. any other ideas passed after voting will NOT be counted as part of the proposal. given that the citadel DLC squadmates have 3 full bars when we first get them, their HP/shield/barrier values at first glance will suffice. that is their "initial" value since that is what we first see of them. alright, i've noticed several discrepancies comparing firstdrellspectre's values with my own. i adhered to a stricter verification methodology so the lot of you who voted will have to deal with the consequences.

ME2

i used the terminals on the shadow broker base to reset everyone's stats. to address the problem of grunt and legion's upgrades (as well as liara's LOTSB stint) i took the data on immediately getting them. i revised my method and simply capped each squadmate's stats upon their first mission deployments.

ME3

squad members are in their default outfits (garrus and james have +25% to shields on default), and whatever values they're first found in will be the values put on the templates.

i scrubbed all default squadmate stats with the normandy's stat reset device. the data for javik, wrex, aria and nyreen were all taken at their first mission appearances. for armax arena squadmates i took caps right after purchasing their licenses. at the very minimum, nobody has hidden stat increases due to abilities or outfits.

all images are taken from english PC versions and uploaded offsite as they aren't strictly necessary here. anyone can fire up their copy and look at the same values i see. in fact i highly encourage people to do so because of the discovered discrepancies. voting isn't merely throwing in with support or oppose.

here are my findings. unless people can prove that the values here are also incorrect given my stated methods above they're the ones we will be using (updated and fully collated): http://imgur.com/a/hw37U#0

it has been a day since the proposal passed. no one bothered address the issue further. well then, i consider the matter closed.
