I noticed that in Mass Effect 2, Shepard has no moment of reconciliation with the past, while his teammates actually do. Can anyone tell me what inspired BioWare to forget about developing Shepard as a character?--Eternal Nothingness 12:47, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

Well, there are at least two reconciliation moments, first is on Horizon with ME1 team member (who basically tells you to go to hell, because you work with Cerberus) and then there is one with Liara in LoSB. --AriesCZ 09:59, October 30, 2010 (UTC)
Don't forget about the reunion with Captain Anderson, now Counsilor Anderson, and the Citadel Council. That counts, right?--Eternal Nothingness 19:34, November 3, 2010 (UTC)
And of course landing where the first Normandy crashed and poking around. --Pcj (TC) 03:09, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

I got the impression that, being a user generated character, Bioware didnt want to have a moment where its your character telling you how to feel. Once you get an emotional scene then its forcing you to feel the way your character does, when Bioware wants it to be the other way around.--Ironreaper 05:27, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

In addition to the situations mentioned above, there are also the interactions with team members Garrus Vakarian and Tali Zora. Despite the fact these two end up joining your current squad, there are still moments during their initial reunions in which they glance back at their time spent fighting Saren, and catch up on the time inbetween. Add to that Shepard's trip to Tuchanka and meeting with Urdnot Wrex (if Shepard spared him in ME), who is now the leader of Clan Urdnot, and the warm welcome he is met with there. --Kentasko

Not to mention the fact that you have Joker piloting your ship the entire game! Anyways, I agree with Ironreaper. I think the fact that Commander Shepard is you means that you get to decide the way he feels about things in the past, present, and future. They don't want to force you to feel a certain way, because it's supposed to be natural. --Effect 03:44, February 9, 2011 (UTC)
