Description of Policy: Removal of rarity from the Acquisition section of Weapon articles.

Other Notes[]

Because of the simple fact of redundancy, with a list being posted in the Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer/Character Customization article, there is no reason to list rarity of MP weapons in those articles.

After digging through all of the weapon articles, I found that there are articles that do not list rarity, which is how the articles should be, and others that do. I cannot see a reason to justify rarity with the three reasons below:

  1. There is a master list
  2. There is a link in the very sentence that goes directly to said master list
  3. The fact the section deals specifically with how to acquire the weapon, which is by purchasing a pack.

When looking at it in detail, there is no reason to have this much redundancy in articles. Lancer1289 (talk) 19:08, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

Against[]

  1. I don't see the harm in having some overlap. Information should be posted where it is relevant, even if similar information is found in another article. TheUnknown285 (talk) 19:20, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

Discussion[]

Is it that big of a deal? It's not like it's hurting anything. Anyways, I really don't care that much either way.--Legionwrex (talk) 19:26, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

Why remove it, no need to make this wiki smalle either, but does it have anything to say... --Perkins98 (talk) 19:29, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

Rarity does have an impact on acquiring weapons in multiplayer. Rarer weapons are more likely to be found in more expensive packs. For example, the cheapest packs, Recruit Packs, will never drop Rares or Ultra-Rares. Besides, having the same information on different pages that the information is relevant to makes it easier to find the information. LilyheartsLiara (talk) 19:31, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

Personally, as much as I support the fight against redundancy, this is one of the times a little redundancy is good. The information is simply relevant to the weapon pages. BeoW0lfe (talk) 19:45, February 26, 2013 (UTC)
