Both have died, then came back to life, both aren't actually their rank, captain jack sparrow wasn't really a captain as he lost his ship yet was still referred to as one, commander Shepard isn't really a commander as he is still technically dead yet is referred to as commander. They both have a crew who stands by them even after they have made questionable decisions, they both fight tentacled creatures (kraken and reapers) both have lost their ship but got them back (the black pearl and the Normandy), just wanted to through that out there.--Algonquin Native 01:00, January 31, 2012 (UTC)
