A quarian who has sold herself into indentured servitude has requested help getting Synthetic Insights to purchase her service contract.

Acquisition

At the Eternity Bar on Illium, Shepard will encounter an asari slave broker trying to calm down a quarian. Talk to the slave broker to start the assignment. The assignment may not be initially available on a first trip to Illium, but may appear on a future trip.

Walkthrough

Service

Slave broker with quarian

Shepard can immediately tell the slave broker to free the quarian for 2 Paragon points. The slave broker will refuse to do so. The Commander will learn that the quarian has voluntarily entered into an indentured servitude contract to pay off her debts. The slave broker had planned to sell the quarian to Synthetic Insights, because she has Artificial Intelligence skills. The contract requires the quarian to stay on Illium so Shepard cannot simply buy her.

Talk to the asari Synthetic Insights Rep, who is also in Eternity. The Rep does not wish to hire a slave, because the Citadel Council condemn slavery. They are also having financial problems because of a backlash against AI research from the 2183 geth attacks. Shepard can use Charm or Intimidate to convince the Rep to do so, which garners 5 Paragon or 5 Renegade points. If Shepard has convinced the Synthetic Insight Rep to hire the quarian, the Commander returns to the slave broker to complete the assignment, and can earn 2 additional Paragon or Renegade points depending upon the response.

Alternatively, Shepard can leave the Synthetic Insights Rep and explain the situation to the slave broker. Shepard can use Charm or Intimidate to persuade the slave broker to release the quarian, gaining either 5 Paragon or Renegade points.

Or better yet you can use charm or intimidate to get the owner to release the slave, then return and convince the Rep to buy her contract for 10 points of Paragon or Renegade.
