The only known cluster connecting the Maroon Sea to the rest of the mass relay network is the Attican Beta cluster.
As of 2183, the Maroon Sea is the subject of an Alliance-sponsored effort to colonize the Matano system, which is in the early stages of development at that time. In a remote part of the cluster, ExoGeni operates a secret research facility in the area.
