The SSV Iwo Jima was a frigate of the Systems Alliance. She was sent to the batarian colony Camala to evacuate Alliance scientist Kahlee Sanders, when the frigate was attacked by Skarr and the Blue Suns. The Iwo Jima used her GARDIAN defence system to take out the Blue Suns' rover, but was then struck by thousands of high explosive rounds, fired from a portable mass accelerator cannon by Skarr. Her shields had been shut down so she could land; shrapnel from the rounds punctured her hull and killed the crew. The Iwo Jima careered out of control, crashed on Camala's surface and was destroyed on impact.
