Btw, does anyone know what a "Reaper attack helicopter" could be? Has anything like that ever been mentioned or talked about? [[User:Knuff|Knuff]] 16:36, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

Canon?

Can we concicer trailer information as canon and valid? I am not sure if ANN deserves an article. 94.70.27.18 20:47, June 25, 2011 (UTC)

I don't see why it wouldn't be. It comes from an official ME3 trailer released by BioWare. Why would BioWare go to the trouble of making this trailer for ME3 if nothing in it meshed with the ME universe? -- Commdor (Talk) 20:57, June 25, 2011 (UTC)
I agree with the above, but games have been to known to contradict trailers at times. I would say that what's in a trailer is canon unless it contradicts one of the games; they take precedence. DarwinSighs 21:36, June 25, 2011 (UTC)
The original Mass Effect trailer is what sprung in my mind. Had nothing to do with what was in the game. It used planets, one from ME, another that eventually shows up in ME2, but not in the context that they appear in the game. More just to highlight the fact that big decisions are going to be made in the game. Late to the party on this one I know, but I often do not pay attention to the trailers for just that reason. The Chinese People's Federation??

Not sure if anyone else knows but hes not speaking Chinese, but Japanese. I am not sure is Japan is part of the the Chinese People's Federation in the future cannon of Mass Effect. Maybe this should be change?

If that's true, then the CPF should be removed and nothing added. Maybe the reporter is speaking Japanese, but we currently have no lore mentioning Japan or its condition in the ME universe at the time of ME through ME3. In short, we don't know if Japan still exists or not as the country it is today. -- Commdor (Talk) 15:23, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
In ME1 Japanese is talked about as one of the country banks which you can get credit's from but that's all. I changed it but it was change back by Lancer. DeadpoolShep (Talk) 23:39, 2 February, 2012
That Codex entry also refers to "Mexican pesos", even though we know Mexico is part of the United North American States. It's still possible that Mexico could have its own regional currency, but you can see how that Codex entry alone doesn't provide concrete info about a nation's status at the time of ME. I'll remove the CPF, but Japan can't replace it in the article until we get more info. -- Commdor (Talk) 15:55, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
Probably for the best. Lancer1289 16:24, February 2, 2012 (UTC)

Taking the place of Cerberus Daily News?

It seems as though the Alliance News Network is taking the place of the old Cerberus Daily News (which makes sense considering Shepherd is back with the Alliance and no longer with Cerberus). An update on the Mass Effect 2 Facebook profile said that updates are supposed to come every Friday. So, should this page be updated to follow the format of the CDN page or folded into that page? TheUnknown285 02:44, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

We're going to wait and see, there's a lot we don't know. We're still expecting a final two weeks of CDN reports soon and the ANN may not be a replacement for those. The ANN reports could also stop after Mass Effect 3 releases, so it wouldn't make sense to do the archive system for only five reports. -- Commdor (Talk) 02:52, February 4, 2012 (UTC)
The wait and see approach is probably the best way in this case. If it becomes regular, then perhaps, but if not, then really no. We will again just have to play this one by ear. Lancer1289 02:53, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

Translation

Didn't know about the trailer until yesterday, so I figured I'd translate the foreign parts for you. If anyone wants to add it to the main article, feel free to do so, I won't do it as I'm certain it'll be deleted because it's missing any sources other than me...

The first part is English so I'll obviously skip that.
