Just wanted to clarify in lieu of the recent edit- while this is certainly open to some debate and interpretation, Crete (where Knossos is located), is often not considered part of ancient (or Classical) Greece, as it was geographically separate and was for at least part of the time the center of the Minoan empire. Macedon, on the other hand, is pretty much always considered part of Classical Greece, albeit in the hinterlands. It bordered on prominent regions such as Thessaly, its people were considered Greek, and Macedon did participate in the major events of Classical Greece, most notably the Peloponnesian War. Just wanted to clarify this, as the edit summary box wasn't really big enough. :) SpartHawg948 07:40, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
