This is the talk page for Assault Rifles (talent).
Please limit discussions to topics that go into improving the article.
If you wish to discuss matters not relevant to article upkeep, take it to the blogs, forums,
Discord chat, or discussions module.
Thank you.

Most of this page seems to be opinion based, not factual about the Assault Rifle. I'd like to merge anything relevant here with Assault Rifles, if anybody has a feeling on what they'd like to see, please discuss, or just do it. xyrth 06:59, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

How do we remark that this guide is Mass Effect (1) only? Delta.function 03:56, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

I've done some testing with the HMWA rifles, and found the opinion about Snowblind rounds isn't correct - it isn't the best damage combo.

Here is the data:

Gun Upgrade 1 Upgrade 2 Ammo Base DMG ROF Base Dmg/sec Adjusted Dmg/Sec Dmg bonus
HMWA X Frictionless X Frictionless X Shredder/Tungsten VII 384 10.0 3840 6155.0
HMWA X Scram X Frictionless X Shredder/Tungsten VII 384 8.3 3200 6039.9
HMWA X Rail VII Frictionless X Shredder/Tungsten VII 384 8.0 3072 5936.4
HMWA X Rail VII Rail VII Snowblind X 384 6.0 2304 4907.6
HMWA X Scram X Scram X Snowblind X 384 6.0 2304 4682.0
HMWA X Frictionless X Frictionless X Inferno X 384 10.0 3840 4396.4 1050
HMWA X Scram X Frictionless X Inferno X 384 8.3 3200 4314.2 875
HMWA X - - - 384 10.0 3840 3840.0
HMWA VII Frictionless VIII Frictionless VIII Shredder/Tungsten VII 336 10.0 3360 5186.2
HMWA VII Rail VII Rail VII Snowblind X 336 6.0 2016 4294.2
HMWA VII Frictionless VIII Frictionless VIII Incendiary VII 336 10.0 3360 3704.4 750

"ROF" has been adjusted to take into account the number of seconds per minute during which the gun mustn't be fired to allow cooldown (with AR skill 12). The adjusted dmg/sec is the damage with upgrades and ammo applied. "Dmg bonus" is the amount of damage for incendiary rounds which would be applied in subsequent seconds if every shot fired for one second hit.

As you can see, the damage for anti-armor/anti-personnel rounds with frictionless mods is greatest, although it needs more micromanagement i.e. you have to swap the ammo type depending on what you're fighting. FreshDaemon 11:51, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
