Specialisation class pictures[]
I wonder. Are there any symbols we could use for the specialisation classes rather than reusing the class pictures? I do like the way it looks, just might be something to keep an eye out for. --Tullis 05:36, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
New Classes[]
Does anyone know if there is going to be new classes for ME2. If anyone finds out anything can you please put it on this page?--EnrgyBomb 21:18, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
- There will be new classes, and I believe some of the details have been released thus far, but only a few. There still isn't much info out there about it. If I'm not mistaken (which I very well could be) you can find a little bit of info here [1]. SpartHawg948 21:26, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
- There won't be any new classes per se, the existing 6 are being reworked however (new abilities, rebalanced etc.), enough so that they anticipate people will want to change classes, so are letting them. There isn't going to be 7th or 8th class for example though. JakePT 01:30, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
Specialisation class pages[]
I think we need to do an overhaul of the specialisation class pages. Some only have stats for specialising from one class and not the other, or they're missing information, or something like that. While we're codifying new powers / talents / classes etc, fixing up those pages might be something to look into. Anyone interested in helping out? --Tullis 11:40, December 27, 2009 (UTC)
- I was just thinking when looking at someone's edits to the specialisation pages that they're awfully short and it would probably be a better idea to just merge them all into a Specialisations page. Something to consider as part of this. JakePT 11:42, December 27, 2009 (UTC)
- No. We have full pages for all the classes; I'd like to keep them as separate pages. It costs us nothing, and we have character and even planet pages that are shorter than the specialisation pages. If they have full stats on them, they'll be fine. --Tullis 11:48, December 27, 2009 (UTC)
Separate ME2 classes from ME1[]
While looking for ME2 class info, I had to scroll down each page to find ME2 section of class description. I suggest to separate class pages for ME1 and ME2, so ME2 info will be as available at a glance as ME1/general info. Alternatively, creating stand-alone skill table pages might solve the problem - I think such tables are the main thing people look for the way I did - flipping through all 6 pages and comparing. Will that violate any guidelines or paging rules here? // Orc 88.204.14.228 08:24, January 29, 2010 (UTC)
Enemy Classes[]
Shouldn't enemy classes be featured? --Kluutak 12:11, July 9, 2010 (UTC)
- Classes like what exactly? Because we don't know what the names of enemy classes like what class the Blue Suns Commander falls into. We only know what the squadmate and character classes are. To be honest, we'd be guessing at what classes they all fall into, or what classes they are. Lancer1289 18:06, July 9, 2010 (UTC)
Mass Effect 2 Class Protections[]
The classes in Mass Effect 2 possess either shields (Soldier, Engineer, Infiltrator, and possibly Sentinel) or barriers (Adept, Vanguard). Does this change what enemy abilities are effective against them? For example, will Warp do greater damage to a class with barriers than one with shields? Does this also apply to squadmates? If so. it should be mentioned. 71.245.7.251 23:58, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
Mass Effect 3 Section[]
Are there any plans to add a Mass Effect 3 section? Or are we waiting for conformation or something?

Mass effect 2 starting powers[]
This was just reverted but I think it would be useful information to list the default, starting powers for each class somewhere as that info isn't listed anywhere on the wiki to my knowledge. If putting that info isn't allowed on the actual class pages for some reason, then where would it be appropriate? Not really sure how it's "redundant" to say which powers already have Rank 1 at the beginning of the game since I can't find that info on any other page. I didn't put it into the text body since those descriptions appear verbatim from the game, so didn't think that would be appropriate.

- the talent/power tables on all games list all of them and their prerequisites. you'd have to be a really special case of blind idiot if you somehow missed the fact that no prerequisites listed = included by default. . . - I think you're slightly mistaken by assuming it's obvious certain powers will start at Rank 1, because for one thing, they don't - the class passive powers for each class don't start at Rank 1, only the two available active powers + the bonus power do. I can't speak to the IQ levels of who uses this wiki but for a new player, it is non-obvious from the tables that you would start with certain abilities at Rank 1 by default, as opposed to say, starting out with every skill at ZERO rank with talent point allocation being entirely left to the player's discretion. I can say from personal experience that in the past I've wanted to know what powers are at level 1 by default for certain classes before starting a new game and I have not been able to remember off the top of my head, as that information factored into what bonus power I wanted to choose. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with providing that information on the class pages instead of expecting everyone to be able to make deductions based on incomplete information. The ME1 and ME3 classes also start with points already allocated in certain abilities by default (again, not 100% obvious from the tables) and it might be useful info to include that as well, which I'd get around to eventually. Or not. Up to you, but there IS some room for improvement/clarification compared to the information the pages currently provide. I edit this wiki to make it a better repository of information for people who find the games in the future, not to prove how smart I am. I can't speak to why other people do it. Ale89515 (talk)
- then make an overview section in this page instead of cluttering the six pages for general trait mechanics. if that delves too much into actually giving gameplay advice then there are the numerous guide articles as also listed at the top of the article. . . Revamp[]
I'm working on a moderate revamp to the first section of this page on the original trilogy classes that will hopefully reduce conflicting/conflating terminology and improve clarity, as well as including some better and more thorough cross-linking to better direct people to other pages. Ale89515 (talk) 17:40, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- oops the TOC appears to have been displaced a little too much; could I get some help with that? I admit this kind of page organization/formatting is a little outside my comfort zone, but I'm wondering if the Andromeda section should even be it's own section or if it should just be a redirect? If there's so little to say about it it feels like that might be the better option but I don't know enough about Andromeda to say for sure. Ale89515 (talk) 18:33, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- regarding the "TL;DR" that was an issue, I was merely following how the Equipment page is organized, so perhaps that's a problem there as well? I appreciate the guidance (however I assure you I can read and follow lower-case instructions just fine). Ale89515 (talk) 18:59, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
