Question?[]

"It is not hard to get Liara's companion achievement but you should avoid completing assignments on the Citadel before finding and making her a permanent companion."

Why? I'm planning to replay Mass Effect, why should I avoid completing assignment on Citadel before finding Liara? 186.206.240.227 06:52, November 30, 2013 (UTC)
see Assignments and Achievements. 50 assignments minimum for liara and a good chunk of them is set on the citadel. i'm actually thinking this isn't really trivia since the same conditions apply to other squadmates and it's really up to player choice whether to deliberately gun for the achievement or not. Is Liara's claim of 'virginity' in ME1 a lie?[]

If you Romance Liara in Mass Effect 1, but do not rekindle that relationship in Mass Effect 2 or Mass Effect 3, Liara mentions an orgy she had with mercenaries on a Prothean excavation dig at the Citadel:Party!!!

Assuming she became the Shadow Broker after Mass Effect 2, and spent the majority of her time on Citadel Station during Mass Effect 2, this would mean she is lying about her 'virginity' in Mass Effect 1!

Looking for anyone to confirm.

Note: Romanced only Liara ME1, Romanced only Jack ME2 and ME3, Invited everyone to the party, pretty sure the party was 'Energetic.'—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.177.57.104 (talk · contr).

well that's... interesting. I'm going to have to look into that for research purposes.
I have searched the dialogues and such a claim doesn't exist. 188.77.74.81 18:10, 11 June 2025 (UTC)

Why is my edit getting reverted? It's more accurate than the page as-is, since there's only four exceptions that will cause Liara to not be the first party member to join Shepard after the ambush in Citadel. 6thLyranGuard (talk) 23:51, March 6, 2017 (UTC)

it was fine as is. 4 out of 6 AREN'T exceptions - that's what you call a majority. She'll show up if: she's romanced, anyone from ME2 who did not become a squad member in ME3 was romance (Miranda, Jack, Thane), any none-squadmember romance option in ME3 was chosen (Steve, Traynor), or no one was romanced. That's a longer list than the four exceptions. 6thLyranGuard (talk) 23:56, March 6, 2017 (UTC)

Little Blue Children[]

I just wanted to note that the "little blue children" line in ME3 doesn't happen if Shepard didn't romance Liara in ME1 and 2 but only romanced her in 3 (there are also some other differences with this romance path, such as some different lines in Shepard's cabin love scene). If that's the case there isn't a different line, just no line. I'm not positive if Shepard had to actually say the line during the tour of the Normandy in LotSB to have it appear in ME3, or if there are any other necessary conditions, though. Ale89515 (talk) 03:49, June 19, 2020 (UTC)

Headquote for ME3 Dossier[]

I noticed there isn't a headquote for her ME3 Dossier but there is one for ME2, so I'm going to go ahead and add one. Ale89515 (talk) 03:33, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

The Style Guide entry for headquotes states they can't be reverted without Talk page discussion, or does that not apply to Admins? Anyway, can you perhaps elaborate on why you think that quote wasn't optimal, so that informs what might be a better option? Just saying "no good" isn't really helpful. Ale89515 (talk) 05:09, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
Other options for quote (not all sub-verified):
  • "I've discovered plans for a Prothean device. One that could wipe out the Reapers."
  • "There's no way for you to save them all. But I know you're doing everything you can, and you'll get back there in time to help."
  • "And since I didn't mention it before... it's good to be back, Shepard."

(this line doesn't happen for a romanced Liara though)

  • "I'm honored to be part of your team."
  • "Well, I did just write your name in the stars."

Ale89515 (talk) 05:32, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

put in something without input again and i will be forced to implement sanctions. FYI seven days are required but that isn't an option here nowadays, so you'll have to deal with me first. and since liara doesn't have any preexisting headquotes i'm well within my rights to block the passage of one until something more acceptable has come up. whiny liara isn't a good quote.

i'm still thinking/dredging up my cheatsheet, though writing shep's name in the stars seems to be a start. . . Lol "forced." You seem to be waiting on tenterhooks for a chance to get rid of me, go head knock yourself out, if you're in that much of a hurry to remedy the nonexistent harm I've done to the Wiki or fulfill your apparent desire to be the last and only active user here.
Aaaaanyways, another option:
  • "I'm only 109 Shepard. I could live to see the entire cycle come to an end." - likely too "whiny" for you though, as apparently even the emotions of fictional characters have to submit to your whims and being worried about an impending Apocalypse is an inexcusable weakness of character. Cheers. Ale89515 (talk) 17:56, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
This not done yet? My vote's for "I'm honored to be part of your team." (what she says in the APC driving towards the beam near the end of the game). I don't see why this has to be such a chore, Garrus' hq is just "Are you kidding? I'm right behind you." Just pick one already I personally just want to see it for the sake of completion on the page, this isn't some exercise in ego for me, I can only speak for myself of course. Ale89515 (talk) 00:01, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
too generic and doesn't embody the spirit of the character. same with garrus but i wasn't there when that was decided. as for liara, in the absence of better choices as of yet i'm still partial to writing shep's name in the stars as it does relate to her (other) job. . . MEA - timeline[]

The MEA chapter should be moved before ME3 because all recorded message are pre AI launch and pre Reaper War. OK for everyone? DeldiRe (talk) 10:49, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

it stays where it is. final liara message is during reaper war and concurrent to ME3. . . Majority of messages are prior to ME3 and the last one is during Reaper war, not after. On most articles, those kind of information are posted before ME3. I'd like to receive others feedback on this point from others users because I disagree with your opinion. DeldiRe (talk) 15:21, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

Your attitude hasn't changed during the previous years. I'd hope you'd become mature one day. Sad to see. DeldiRe (talk) 15:28, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

not bold, just tired of your tone of 'voice' over the years with others users (even when I took your side). But I won't make a scene here, there is no point. Regarding, the timeline, I'd like to see the said rule. You have a point with the spoiler tag but it's still not a reason IMO, and I navigate the wiki since a long time as you know.DeldiRe (talk) 15:51, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
the rule on spoilers IS the reason your proposal isn't allowed. you know where to find it since you've been here a long time as you say. . . ME3 Dialogue variations[]

Something I never knew before is that Liara's dialogue at the Citadel "date" on the Presidium varies if it's after Thessia, with her musing that Armali is "probably gone now" and a few other comments. Also the romance lock-in dialogue is a lot more awkward if she's not been romanced previously. I think it might be a good idea to account for some of these variations on the page. Ale89515 (talk) 18:53, 15 December 2020 (UTC)

One little addendum, can confirm through testing that the "little blue children" line in ME3 occurs regardless of whether you actually picked the Paragon response in the Cabin date in ME2 LotSB that actually uses that line (picking the Renegade, "Death, most likely" response still gets you the little blue children reference in ME3). I believe that completing LotSB is the only actual requirement for getting the line in ME3 at the FOB, however I don't know for certain if the date in Shepard's cabin is required, or if simply killing the Broker and completing the mission is enough. I would guess the date to re-affirm the relationship is required as Liara references the "tour of the Normandy" in ME3 if you have it, but don't know for certain; I'm guessing not a lot of people have done LotSB and NOT done the date after before importing to ME3, though I suppose a save editor could be used to test it. Liara's conversation about Benezia's death pre-Virmire[]

LiaraBeneziaConvBugPreVirmire

As per the title, I'm on a run of the LE, and I got this to happen, I just finished Noveria after getting her into the team, so, that means still no chances of doing the Virmire mission, and she says she wants to remember her mother as how she was before being corrupted by Sovereign. No Virmire means no knowledge about what Sovereign is, thus, no way to know that it was the one behind her indoctrination.

I have to add that I have modded my game, so could someone confirm if this also happens on an unmodded run? Though I do not believe any of the few mods I'm using would be able to cause this kind of issue, not that it is that important anyways.

Thanks folks!

Benezia mentions Sovereign and its mind control ability on Noveria. It may have been an optional investigate conversation option, but I don't think the game cares about that as a trigger for Liara knowing about Sovereign corrupting Benezia afterwards, that dialogue line is always the same. Four years, warning them about what?[]

After the Fall of Thessia, Shepard comforts Liara by saying "You've been warning your people for four damn years, Liara." But they didn't know, at least enough to be certain, about the Reapers until three years ago in ME1. What are they referring to?Incursor (talk) 01:15, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

Either it's a mistake, or it's referring to Liara's theory about cycles. She knew something wiped out all galactic civilization every 50,000 years and warned that it was due to happen again soon.--Loadingue (talk) 01:29, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
