Redirects[]

Is it possible to add a type shortcut (I don't know if that's the term) when writing "Equipment" in the url bar after "masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/"? It is a bit frustrating having to navigate through the Multiplayer page just reach this one. And not only this page, for the Gear page and multiplayer class pages too.

There already exists a redirect for Gear--just type in "Gear". The problem with an easy redirect to this page is that there are lots of things named "Equipment." I suppose you could just use "Gear" every time, then click on the disambiguation message at the top.
Multiplayer class redirects exist, also:

Typing "Equipment" as the page name in the address bar (http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Equipment) already goes to the page for equipment in general for single-player; however, that page has a disambiguation link to ME3 multiplayer Equipment. Typing in "Gear" (http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Gear) will redirect to the multiplayer Gear page. LilyheartsLiara (talk) 19:40, February 28, 2013 (UTC)
We could make an "Equipment (disambiguation)" page to ease navigation. By my count, there are at least five articles with "Equipment" in the title, including this one. Possibly add a "Multiplayer Equipment" redirect, too. -- Commdor (Talk) 20:08, February 28, 2013 (UTC)

Max number[]

What's maximal number of single equipement supplies? I mean max number of medigel packs is 255, same for reserved ammo, shield restorer and cobra missles. So what's max number for equipement supplies?78.8.97.168 18:55, April 16, 2013 (UTC)

The maximum number of single-use equipment supplies is 255, but they will not be replaced when you buy packs like medi-gel, themal clip packs, ops packs, and Cobra missiles are. So if you have 255 Armor-Piercing Rounds III and buy a Spectre Pack, you still have a chance of receiving an Armor-Piercing Rounds III, even though you're at max, so it's wasted. Trandra (talk) 19:06, April 16, 2013 (UTC)
You see I ask because I desire ultra rare weapons. I thought I can do it by having all rare things completed and increasing chance for ultra rare. I already have all rare weapons and characters, so I asked about ammo supplies, but I see they are more than I expected.78.8.97.168 19:15, April 16, 2013 (UTC)
The chance for Ultra-Rares never increases. If you max out everything, the chance for an ultra-rare is still as low as before, when you didn't max out everything. Lksdjf (talk) 10:18, April 17, 2013 (UTC)

Incendiary Rounds[]

Regarding the recent additions, can you confirm if the same also applies to Incendiary Ammo in single-player User:Burningcherry97? Is there no source on that? Neo89515 (talk) 23:30, 27 May 2023 (UTC)

I can confirm based on tests I just did. I don't recall this being tested in exact detail for the purpose of SP before. Burningcherry97 (talk) 21:41, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
Well if you feel confident enough to add the equivalent information to the Incendiary Ammo page, feel free. I didn't expect any differences. We may want to add some info on the ammo power priming behaviors to Weapons#Ammo Powers 2 and the Power Combos main page as well. Neo89515 (talk) 23:40, 28 May 2023 (UTC)

"0x Damage Multiplier"?[]

At User:Burningcherry97 -- what do you mean by the phrase "0x Damage Multiplier"? That could be misleading, as it seems to imply it would multiply damage by zero, leading to no damage, and that isn't the case. If you're just trying to say it deals no extra damage to X protection type, I would just say that to avoid confusion. Neo89515 (talk) 16:51, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

But that precisely is the case. The ammo damage is multiplied by 0. Burningcherry97 (talk) 17:01, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
No extra damage to the bonus modifier damage only (as opposed to the weapon damage itself)? That's a distinction the average user may not catch. We want to emphasize accessibility. Better to explain a little more and confuse a little less. Neo89515 (talk) 18:15, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
I wrote it in a way that's consistent with the previously existing notes about warp, disruptor and phasic ammo. Should I add a note at the top that explains how ammo works in general and what the numbers mean? Burningcherry97 (talk) 18:18, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
I re-wrote it. I just think that's clearer. Again, nothing technically wrong with what you added, and as always contributions are appreciated, but I think there was potential for confusion there. For example, I think the average user will see "10x" modifier and just conclude that "weapon damage is multiplied 10x, so a shot does 10x damage to shields" so they might be led into believing that a "0x modifier" means the weapon damage is multiplied by zero, meaning the shot does NO damage. Obviously simple game experience would prevent an experienced player from thinking that, but we're catering to an audience that may not have experience (yes, even for a 10 year old game).
