Something I noticed[]
In the cutscene where the quarians destroy the dreadnought, you can see Rannoch in the background. It has the same...pockmarks, if you will, yellow-orange areas that look like massive fires burning. The same can be seen on Earth and Palaven when the Reapers attack. Yet, the Reapers haven't invaded Rannoch full-scale. Is this a continuity error? Is it worth mentioning in the trivia? TheUnknown285 20:38, May 5, 2012 (UTC)
- We don't know the extent of the Reaper threat on Rannoch. Perhaps they thought the geth were enough and didn't commit more than the destroyer we mentioned. Don't forget, those could also be from the fight between the quarians and geth. We just don't know the context and therefore it cannot be trivia. Lancer1289 00:11, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Additional Trivia[]
At the end of Priority: Geth Dreadnought, as the team is escaping, Joker makes an offhanded comment that they should 'waggle their wings or something' to indicate where they are. This is a quote from the original Battlestar Galactica, Episode 'The Hand of God'. If there's no objections, I'll add it to the trivia section in a day or so. -NydusTemplar 05:05, May 22, 2012 (UTC)
I'm 99% sure that the phrase "waggle wings" has nothing to do with either Battlestar Galactica or a fighter pilot from WWII. Not everything's a reference, let's not get crazy here. 04:29, March 23, 2014 (UTC)
- hence the disclaimers "MAY" and "COULD BE" instead of "IS". now cease removing content or i will have to remove you. I don't get it[]
Why did the geth dreadnought have gravity? It is clearly stated in ME2 that they don't need it. And to tell the truth I never understood why didn't they use it to their advantage during on-board fights. They could clearly benefit from multi-dimensional formations, while organics would get confused. --MarQan (talk) 14:06, January 26, 2014 (UTC)
- So technically you probably should have posted that in the water cooler forum or on a blog, since this page is really for talking about what should or shouldn't change in the article. But I'm sure the answer to your question is the same as the answer to most classic sci-fi why-nots ("why don't they just use the transporters to defeat every Star Trek obstacle"): because it didn't make as compelling a narrative and/or gameplay experience that way. At the end of the day somebody has to make all this stuff up, and while consistency and verisimilitude are great it's ultimately about telling a cool story and fighting through a neat level. Cover mention may be incorrect[]
The section in the main battery contains the line, "If you've popped out from cover to shoot, the shockwave will not hit you." I have found this to be untrue (PC, ME Trilogy via Origin). -Sophia (talk) 22:08, September 5, 2014 (UTC)
- what it means is if you rightclick+aim from a starting cover position then a shockwave crashes on you, you won't get damaged. what it does NOT mean is if you manually separate yourself from cover you won't get stung. completely different mechanics. T̴̴͕̲̞̳̖̼̱͒͛̎͒ͫ̃ͧeͩ̈̽̈҉͓̝̰̼̦̫̤̀͠m̫̪̪̯̻͎̫̅̇̓̇͌̚p̸̙̝̓̓͌ͨ͆ͣͥ̂̕o͒̽͐̽͏̞̬̻͕͔͕͚̰͍͠͞ṙ̢̞͚͈̹̰ͨ̓ͭ̈́̌ạ̢̧̪̹̺̺̣̹̲͂͆̏ͪͨ͒ͭř̹͈͜͠y̷͍̻̜̹̼̾̽̈́e̵̹̼̟̦͚͐̈́͌͘d͉̲̣̻͉̱͗̅ḭ̷̻̆͋̆̓̔͝t̨͍̦̫̗͂̅̍̋̆ͩ͝ộ̫̟̬̳̝̲̾ͫ̒̿ͮ̑̚rͯ̎ͨͭ̄̿̽͛҉̠̫̱̠̘̘̲́ͅ7̩̻ͤͩͨ͝͡8̜̣̙͇̻ͨ͛͛̆͒̆̽̒͐͜͡ ͥ̍̉̃̇ͥ̓ͨ͏̕҉̥̹͓̗̤̠̖̤ (talk) 03:30, September 6, 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, understood. I don't mean that I manually walked Shepard out of cover. Shepard was in cover, with shockwaves passing overhead, not doing Shepard any harm; while in cover, Shepard targeted an enemy with a power while Shift was pressed (pausing the game and bringing up the power buttons at the bottom of the screen). I released the Shift button, the animation played of Shepard leaving cover, firing the power, and then crouching back down again. Shepard took damage from the shockwave during this. This happened several times, in different places in the gun battery. Is it perhaps that the article is specifically referring to shooting a gun, rather than using a power? -Sophia (talk) 17:18, September 6, 2014 (UTC)
- i've just booted up the game and found that you had to time the power unleashing animation at exactly the same time the shockwave hits you. only happens if you edged your shepard at a corner.
- in short order, barring flukes or heat of the moment miscalculations power unleashing won't damage you unless you're deliberately fucking it up.
- and going by the original wording, there's nothing incorrect. nothing was said about powers anyway. if you want to expand on this, go right ahead, but your original claim is factually incorrect and will not go in unless backed by solid/devconfirmed evidence. T̴̴͕̲̞̳̖̼̱͒͛̎͒ͫ̃ͧeͩ̈̽̈҉͓̝̰̼̦̫̤̀͠m̫̪̪̯̻͎̫̅̇̓̇͌̚p̸̙̝̓̓͌ͨ͆ͣͥ̂̕o͒̽͐̽͏̞̬̻͕͔͕͚̰͍͠͞ṙ̢̞͚͈̹̰ͨ̓ͭ̈́̌ạ̢̧̪̹̺̺̣̹̲͂͆̏ͪͨ͒ͭř̹͈͜͠y̷͍̻̜̹̼̾̽̈́e̵̹̼̟̦͚͐̈́͌͘d͉̲̣̻͉̱͗̅ḭ̷̻̆͋̆̓̔͝t̨͍̦̫̗͂̅̍̋̆ͩ͝ộ̫̟̬̳̝̲̾ͫ̒̿ͮ̑̚rͯ̎ͨͭ̄̿̽͛҉̠̫̱̠̘̘̲́ͅ7̩̻ͤͩͨ͝͡8̜̣̙͇̻ͨ͛͛̆͒̆̽̒͐͜͡ ͥ̍̉̃̇ͥ̓ͨ͏̕҉̥̹͓̗̤̠̖̤ (talk) 17:49, September 6, 2014 (UTC)
- I know it won't go in - I put it here in the talk page as a report, which others might be able to confirm, or not. I wouldn't have added it without at least two other confirmations. I've changed the section title from "Cover mention is incorrect" to "Cover mention may be incorrect" to better reflect my intent in mentioning it. I wasn't deliberately getting damaged; this was something I found happening in normal gameplay. Re "nothing was said about powers anyway", that's why I asked if the article was specifically referring to shooting a gun. -Sophia (talk) 21:43, September 6, 2014 (UTC)
- let me clarify.
- this is not a 3-user confirmation bug report, as there is no "bug" in the first place. what you and i are talking about are different aspects of normal gameplay mechanics that may or may not be expounded on by existing developer statements. nothing more, nothing less.
- yes, you may think about the statement as shooting a gun, as that's what most people do. in terms of powers, an explanation may indeed be warranted for the situation i described above, but since my focus isn't on wording semantics at the moment i'm leaving it to others' personal editing responsibility/integrity to do something about it. Tali Never Recruited in ME2?[]
There's lines in this article and the other missions about what happens if Tali died in ME2 on the Suicide Mission, but what if she's never recruited at all? I looked all over her page and even dug through the archives of the Talk section and couldn't find it because I honestly never confirmed for sure that it's possible to go through ME2 without ever recruiting Tali, but apparently it is? According to what I know, you can progress through ME2 as long as you recruit 8 squad members (Collector Ship unlocks) which you can do without getting Tali if you have the DLC people.
https://fextralife.com/forums/t415605/what-happens-if-i-dont-recruit-tali-in-me2/
At least one person claims you can, and if you skip her, then she's dead in ME3 (died on Haestrom). Also claims anyone you don't recruit in ME2 is dead in ME3. Can anyone confirm? Is that information somewhere on this Wiki? I also checked Talk:Mass Effect 3 and found nothing, the footnote after her name on the page implies she can only die during the Suicide Mission.
