Namesake Trivia[]

Obviously, Prometheus Station is named for the mythological figure Prometheus just like the other stations are named after mythological figures. Vulcan Station is subterranean with lava flows nearby, in keeping with its namesake, the god of fire who kept his smithy underground. Hermes Station is a communications station where Dr. Archer guides you through the mission, just like Hermes was the messenger of the gods and a guide to travelers. The question is: how does Prometheus Station relate to its namesake? I have some idea, but I don't want it to be too speculative or rambling.

Prometheus stole fire from Zeus and give it to mortal humans. In punishment, Prometheus was strapped to a rock where an eagle would come by and tear out his liver, only for the liver to regenerate. The eagle would return every day to repeat the process. Zeus also punished humans by sending them Pandora, who's jar/box contained strife, etc. So, you could say that Prometheus Station is the site where humans steal geth technology but it ends up backfiring when David is driven insane by the geth and the AI, re-awakens the geth, and kills everyone on the station.
