Shepherd's Locker - Can someone confirm when this respawns gear, and if there is any advantage to waiting before opening it (i.e., is the gear spawned when Shepherd steps foot onto the Normandy, or when he opens it?). Grail Quest (talk) 15:38, February 6, 2014 (UTC)
- I normally can grab things out of the locker after Eden Prime, Therum, Feros, and Noveria. Doesn't seem to restock after exposing Saren to the council and returning to the ship. Nothing gets added from Virmire onward. Great Mara (talk) 18:03, February 6, 2014 (UTC)
Inspired by Hunt for Red October?[]
There are two references to this movie in ME2 and ME3. The first being Joker mentions a 'Crazy Ivan'(Trivia), the other is he jokes about 'Singing the Russian National Anthem'(Trivia) before boarding the Geth dreadnought.
Is this enough to say that the Normandy SR-1 was inspired by the Red October? Jedted (talk) 10:20, March 29, 2015 (UTC)
- Numerous similar references are made by various characters throughout the series, and it would seem these ones are already adequately noted on the pages you linked. I don't see how the references imply that the SSV Normandy was inspired by the sub marine in question, and it's certainly the kind of thing that would require dev confirmation. Source of 2183 commissioning?[]
The page states Normandy was commissioned, which I believe means they begun designing it, in 2183. Less than a year before ME1 starts seems an improbably short time to develop a ship with revolutionary new drive and stealth technology (the Thanix which is also new tech took 11 months). ME has enough other fast developments it's not compactly off the table but still...
Where was the 2183 stated? (The Andromeda Codex staes the IES stealth system was developed then, but I assume it was stated in earlier works?) Or might/does commissioned not mean what I think it means here?Incursor (talk) 04:47, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
