Reference to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.[]

I wonder if the name "Svarog" is in some way, a homage to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Series of games. In the last game, Call of Pripyat, a Svarog detector is an experimental device that allows a user to navigate anomalous fields. Also included in this game is a "Veles" detector which also detects anomalous fields. Veles was the prior iteration of detector.

The proximity of the planets in the same system would appear to indicate that this may be some sort of homage to the Stalker series of games. Cicer0 13:24, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

According to the STALKER wiki, the Veles detector appears in the series sequels Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat, and the Svarog detector appears in Call of Pripyat. Both of the games where these devices appear were released a while after Mass Effect. The name usages are therefore most likely a coincidence, and were probably chosen by the developers of ME and STALKER because of their relation to Slavic mythology. -- Commdor (Talk) 16:16, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

Svarog and Veles are Slavic God.
