Task: Remnant Data Cores

Peebee calls these items "Remnant data cores". She believes they are data storage devices.

Acquisition

This mission is started when the Pathfinder retrieves their first data core during the mission A Better Beginning.

Walkthrough

Note: It is possible for this task to remain incomplete if Ryder fails to collect enough data cores from the "secret puzzle areas" in the Vaults. They will become inaccessible once the purification console is activated.

There are a total of 11 data cores but only 9 are required to complete the task. The data core locations:

Eos

1. Eos Vault (automatically acquired)
2. Eos - Defeat the Architect. Only possible after activating the Vault on Havarl or Voeld as the radiation on Eos requires time to decrease to safer levels in order to access the area.

Voeld

1. Voeld - Completing the Task: Subjugation. It is in the last area at the end of the mission.
2. Voeld Vault - Complete a series of puzzles to find the data core. The area will be inaccessible if the purification console is activated.
3. Voeld - Defeat the Architect. Requires setting setting up an outpost first.

Kadara

1. Kadara Vault - Complete a series of puzzles to find the data core. The area will be inaccessible if the purification console is activated.
2. Kadara - Defeat the Architect. At the north west of the map called Kurinth's Valley. You can either head directly to the Architect or stumble upon it when Ryder investigates a missing cult leader.

Elaaden

1. Elaaden Vault - Complete a series of puzzles to find the data core. The area will be inaccessible if the purification console is activated.
2. Elaaden - It is in an unmarked Remnant Vault directly west of the southern Remnant Monolith. It sits on the eastern edge of the big sinkhole on the map. Data core is at located in the Vault in the left side room.
3. Elaaden - Defeat the Architect. Only possible if you hand over the Remnant drive core to Morda to allow Ryder to set up an outpost. The outpost leader then reports to Ryder of an impending threat and tasks Ryder to neutralise it.

Meridian

1. Meridian (Khi Tasira Remnant City) - At the Research Tower, in the chamber where you activate the control console, head right into a small area with a tree at the end. Use the tree to get onto the platform above where a secret console is found. The console opens an area across the chamber with the data core.
