Enter Shepard, who, sometime during two shuttle flights and a chat with TIM, has apparently utterly forgotten how to fight.

"Urgh! Argh! Eeeaarrgh!"

"Do you hear that?" Jacob asks, displaying a finely-honed sense of both timing and mockery. "Sounds like FENRIS Mechs."

Shepard does not, in fact, hear anything through the red haze of impending death, but gets the gist through subtitles.

"Please cease your hostile behaviour," a LOKI mech requests politely, shooting Shepard several times.

"Urgh! Argh! Eeeaarrgh!"

Shepard zooms in, fires Overload at the LOKI mech, then fires her heavy pistol until the clip runs out. There is progress: she is sure the red crosshairs appear once or twice.

The LOKI mech stumbles back a little upon being hit by Overload, before shooting Shepard several times.

"Urgh! Argh! Eeeaarrgh!"

Miranda and Jacob run into the fray, ducking and vaulting, firing weapons and biotic powers, taking down the mechs with ninja-like grace.

Shepard watches through the red haze and feels they are rather showing her up.

"Take down their shields before they can hit you!" Miranda advises.

Now this is something Shepard can do. Overload. Zoo--

"Urgh! Argh! Eeeaarrgh!"

As the game world fades away out of sheer embarrassment for Shepard, Shepard is sure she hears Miranda and Jacob's voices.

"The project was really worth it, huh, Miranda?"

"You're the one who vouched for her fighting skills 'personally'."

"Well, I didn't want to say it in front of her... but she fired in the general direction of the mechs, hit me in the arm, and it ricocheted off and killed one of them. So, yeah, I'd say it was personal. I did level up from it."
