Challenges[edit source]

Happened to see on your profile that you like to add extra challenges to your Mass Effect runs. So I was going to mention my favorite... Insanity Iron Man! Where if you die you have to go back to the beginning. Makes for a very different mindset in approaching missions... :-) Cattlesquat (talk) 21:49, May 15, 2014 (UTC)

Oooh. :) That is definitely a good challenge, and appeals to my liking of micro-management and playing very tactically. There are some missions where my skill isn't advanced enough yet for luck not to play some part: sprinting to avoid the brutes and the descending Reaper claws when summoning Kalros on Tuchanka, for example. I'll consider it, for when I'm feeling supremely confident. :)
So, what's it called when, if you die, you have to start the entire series again? :) -Sophia (talk) 22:47, May 15, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah that would probably be called "super iron man" or something! I've only got 1 1/2 character classes to go to finish a complete set of Insanity Iron Man runs, so maybe I'll try that afterwards. I once made it all the way through ME and ME2 in a single straight run (with Sentinel), but died about halfway through ME3. So it's probably possible, though ME3 has the most extra randomness in grenades and minigames and so forth. One could simply not count minigames like Marauder Shields and whatever, I suppose. On the other hand Arc Projector should probably be banned from ME2...
On Kalros... you can see a shadow where the reaper claws are about to come down. And if you keep Defense Matrix active as your bonus power, then when a Brute whams you just "detonate" it which instantly restores your shield and means you can even survive another bad luck Brute hit without death. glhf! picture protips[edit source]

it seems you've gotten into the hobby, so let me offer some advice. i'll assume you know the basics, but do not hesitate to clarify anything.

Thank you for the specific advice. From what you've said, I suspect I'm not even at the knowing-the-basics level. I have been using FRAPS to take the screenshot and then Paint.net to remove borders and save as .PNG. As I don't know what's meant by tiledshot, keybinds and console commands here, I'll refrain from adding more images until I've read up and understood. -Sophia (talk) 12:21, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
In addition to reading about keybinds and enabling the console on the PC Tweaks pages, you might want to check out this talk page for some specifics about TiledShot in particular. In-game screenshots are saved as bitmap images (.bmp), but there's plenty of image editing software available for converting them into .png, free or otherwise.
I'm little more than a beginner myself, but if you see me in chat the Mess Hall, I'll be happy to help in any way I can. Good luck! Elseweyr talkstalk 15:16:38, 2014-09-18 (UTC)

Re: Pluto[edit source]

But the game wasn't released before Pluto was reclassified. Hence the contradictory statement. Pluto was reclassified in 2006. Mass Effect was released in 2007, after Pluto had been reclassified. Great Mara (talk) 00:01, March 28, 2015 (UTC)

That's right. But the article stated that the reason the game has Pluto as a planet was that the game was released before Pluto was reclassified. That was the erroneous statement that the anon editor removed. -Sophia (talk) 09:46, March 28, 2015 (UTC)
Ugh. Undone. Also getting my eyes checked. Great Mara (talk) 20:40, March 28, 2015 (UTC)

properties policy vote[edit source]

hi, you may remember putting forth an amended MoS policy for planets sometime back in may, but for technical reasons it has been deemed rejected. nobody voted, not even you - passing a proposal means a minimum of just one supporter over naysayers. since the one-week cooldown policy has long since lapsed, however, you can resubmit the proposal anytime you wish. i'd recommend reserving a few days for discussion before opening votes though.

fair headsup. T̴̴͕̲̞̳̖̼̱͒͛̎͒ͫ̃ͧeͩ̈̽̈҉͓̝̰̼̦̫̤̀͠m̫̪̪̯̻͎̫̅̇̓̇͌̚p̸̙̝̓̓͌ͨ͆ͣͥ̂̕o͒̽͐̽͏̞̬̻͕͔͕͚̰͍͠͞ṙ̢̞͚͈̹̰ͨ̓ͭ̈́̌ạ̢̧̪̹̺̺̣̹̲͂͆̏ͪͨ͒ͭř̹͈͜͠y̷͍̻̜̹̼̾̽̈́e̵̹̼̟̦͚͐̈́͌͘d͉̲̣̻͉̱͗̅ḭ̷̻̆͋̆̓̔͝t̨͍̦̫̗͂̅̍̋̆ͩ͝ộ̫̟̬̳̝̲̾ͫ̒̿ͮ̑̚rͯ̎ͨͭ̄̿̽͛҉̠̫̱̠̘̘̲́ͅ7̩̻ͤͩͨ͝͡8̜̣̙͇̻ͨ͛͛̆͒̆̽̒͐͜͡ ͥ̍̉̃̇ͥ̓ͨ͏̕҉̥̹͓̗̤̠̖̤ (talk) 21:50, July 8, 2015 (UTC)

Thank you. I had assumed it was rejected, and it didn't seem right to vote for it myself and have that be the only vote there. Thank you for the heads up and the advice, and sorry for the delay in seeing and replying to this. -Sophia (talk) 20:53, July 10, 2015 (UTC)
