External Link Help

Can you help me with an external link problem I found this evening?

I created the article Andromeda Elite Helmet and have an external link pointing the reader to the correct mass effect website. everything appears to display on the screen correctly.

However, when you click on the link it sends you to a website that isn't correct. Extra text is being placed on the end of the link and it fails to find the website.

I've placed the text below(broken on purpose) of the link i placed into the page.

[h ttp s://‎ Mass Effect Andromeda Initiative website]

Instead of going to: masseffectdotcom/adromeda-initiative

it goes to: masseffectdotcom/andromeda-initiative%E2%80%8E

The website works if you type in the first correct address but fails with the second modified address.

External linking is new to me and after doing research online I can't figure out why it is doing that. So instead of spending hours trying to figure it out, I humbly ask for sage advice from a much more seasoned editor. :)

Thanks in advance. -- GS877 (talk) 08:12, February 16, 2018 (UTC)

I have made a proposal with the use of 'ref' tag. I would suggest to use it each time :)--DeldiRe (talk) 17:14, February 16, 2018 (UTC)
DeldiRe, Thank you for fixing that portion of the page. I was thinking of trying the solution you chose but that was one of several different ways to fix the issue. Sometimes you just have to stop and ask for help. I was fiddling around with the page at 2am and it was just time to go to bed. :)
I will use the reference tag in the future for anytime that I use an external link. (Also using the < / references > tag at the bottom in the correct place so that the references work correctly. -- GS877 (talk) 18:05, February 16, 2018 (UTC)
No problem. And btw, thank you for all your work on the wiki. It makes me want to work on it too :)--DeldiRe (talk) 09:49, February 17, 2018 (UTC)

Broken Link In ME3MP Template Sandbox

Hey DeldiRe,

I was looking around the site last night and found a list that had broken links listed on it. There are like 500ish pages with busted links. Most are just 1 link. I randomly looked down the list and picked some to correct the links so that that list would get smaller. (Easier to find pages that really need fixing because of a broken link).

I found one on your ME3MP template in your sandbox last night. (Purposely did not put a link below so that if you ever delete that sandbox, it doesn't create a broken link. :) )

The Project Phoenix Vanguard has "Projet" instead of "Project" in the link pointing to the correct page. I fixed that minor issue last night so that the link pointed to the correct place.

That edit was undone by an admin.

I figured that if I let you know about the error, and you fixed your own work, then the change would stay.

It's a nice table btw. I didn't even know it existed.

-- GS877 (talk) 20:22, February 20, 2018 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for the info. I would that broken links in a sandbox page is not really relevant. If you one, just check if the real page (on main wiki) is also broken. ost of the time, it is fixed when implemanted in the wiki. --DeldiRe (talk) 10:42, February 21, 2018 (UTC)

Hey DeldiRe, I got a message back from the admin and understand what the issue was. Only Sysop or above can modify pages to remove redlinks on pages other than current articles. (Unless you have the permission of the user you are trying to modify.)
When I find a link that is a misspelling or missing a character that could to point to a valid article, I would like to fix them. Some fixes are really obvious. A capital "C" instead of a little "c", a missing letter, a missing space, etc. (I think I found 5 or 6 out of the 200+ I've looked at)
Do I have your permission to modify or fix broken links I find on your pages/comments? If I am unsure or think that it shouldn't be fixed, I will leave it alone.
Thanks for your help. :) -- GS877 (talk) 17:02, February 22, 2018 (UTC)
You are allowed to do it but there is no utility to work on sandboxes :) I wold suggest to focus our work on mainspace :)--DeldiRe (talk) 09:08, February 25, 2018 (UTC)
Thank you DeldiRe. My focus has been on mainpages mostly but as I find things I try to repair them. Usually I find one small item and then think "Can this happen in other places?" and then I go and hunt down related items. Sometimes the little things bug me. Just have to fix them. I'm not obsessed, I'm not obsessed, I'm not obsessed... :) I'll let you know if I find anything that is bigger than a small fix if I find anything. Thanks again. -- GS877 (talk) 13:26, February 25, 2018 (UTC)

Strike Teams Page Question

I was looking at your Strike Teams page in the sandbox and noticed there is an asterisk (*) next to the platinum difficulty word in the Difficulty section.

(Left as a non-link so it doesn't turn into a redlink later)

What does the * next to Platinum infer? I didn't see another place that listed what the * was meant to stand for.

Just was curious. Didn't know if this was a mistake, something you were planning on adding, or removed something and didn't pull the *. -- GS877 (talk) 05:05, March 4, 2018 (UTC)

I refers to the note below, I will add another * to be more specific.--DeldiRe (talk) 08:27, March 4, 2018 (UTC)
Oh, ok. Thanks for letting me know. I'm one of those people that when they see a * or a †, I immediately look for what it stands for lower down the page. :) -- GS877 (talk) 18:26, March 4, 2018 (UTC)

Talk Page Question

Hey DeldiRe, I have a quick question. As I am very new to wiki's, am I supposed to respond to your message on your talk page or do I respond on my talk page to your message? I don't know the etiquette for message responses. :) (I responded to your story POV note on my page but I wasn't sure if you would see that I had responded as it is on my page and not your page) -- GS877 (talk) 23:31, March 5, 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for pointing out the Story POV issue. I went and changed all of the pages I worked on so far (except mission pages. I'll go back and fix them when I go through them all again). The multiplayer page looks good. :)
I was able to get most of the cryo pod perks icons but some I was unable to find. I made sure to keep the AVP page as story POV. It's hard to write that way sometimes. :) -- GS877 (talk) 06:03, March 7, 2018 (UTC)

don't bother updating MEA novels/comic information

i got the source materials covered and i will get around to them at some point once i sort a bunch of things on my end. stick to the game proper, i won't have much input there for the foreseeable future. OK I will keep helping GS877 to improve game's content. Just let me know if you need help for MEAI. I think there is also some work to do for 'nexus uprising'.--DeldiRe (talk) 14:28, March 9, 2018 (UTC)
due to circumstances beyond control i will be unable to help with the actual game unless you suddenly see me making sweeping changes to the relevant articles. probably years from now. i do have several files' worth of pending writeups for all MEA comics and novels released to date although i still have to invoke the usual excuse of doing a bunch of stuff off the wiki to justify the delays.
at the very least i plan to have everything released before the last MEA novel comes out. less workload that way. IRL > wiki. Quite normal! But it is good to hear that you have some time to deal with novels and comics so I can focus on the game event if I'm also very busy IRL. --DeldiRe (talk) 16:09, March 9, 2018 (UTC)

Forward Station

Hey DeldiRe, You beat me to it! :) I was going to do Forward Station next but I went off track fixing and creating skill pages yesterday evening. I changed over to BP format as I find it is easier read and breaks up a large paragraph. The pic was an existing one that I found that AnuChemical had uploaded awhile back. (You can use another pic, upload something better, change to whatever you want. The original pic can then be deleted if you don't like the pic)

I tried to break it up like other pages with overview, mechanics, bugs, notes, etc. Provides a good flow for someone coming to the page to learn about what a forward station does for Ryder.

I figured you still had things you wanted to complete on the page so I left it in your sandbox and didn't copy it over yet. Please let me know if you need anything else for the Forward Station. Everything I wanted to add / format I have completed so you can finish anything you wanted to work on. -- GS877 (talk) 18:15, March 10, 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for the help, I publish it tomorrow :) --DeldiRe (talk) 22:14, March 10, 2018 (UTC)

Main Wiki Vids

Hey DeldiRe, I saw you had put delete on those 3 videos and undid them. A wikia staff member on his own added them / undeleted them back in about a month ago. Powers above even the admins! :) He saw that the main wiki page had broken vid links and fixed them on his own. Temp let it stand so I guess he didn't have an issue with it. (He is normally all over that kind of stuff). As they were official vids and part of the main page that someone designed awhile ago, someone must have said that they were MoS compliant at some point. Just wanted to let you know that I had seen when it happened and why I had undone them before Temp did. :) -- GS877 (talk) 18:06, March 15, 2018 (UTC)

Movie Night

Hey DeldiRe, Nice job on the main Movie Night Page! I saw that you had created the page this morning and I think that was a great addition to the wiki. The mission boxes on the bottom of each Movie Night mission page are also a nice touch. Keep up the good work! :) -- GS877 (talk) 17:28, March 18, 2018 (UTC)

Thanks, maybe I should have named the page 'Movie Night Guide' instead.--DeldiRe (talk) 17:37, March 18, 2018 (UTC)
Hey DeldiRe, Nope. I think you named it correctly. I would call a guide something much broader and larger. A concept with lots and lots of information from all kinds of sources "guiding" a player through the many different options that can be explored by the player during gameplay. I think MEA Guide or Adept Guide as examples. Your page is about a specific mission arc so guide doesn't seem to fit (in my opinion). -- GS877 (talk) 18:52, March 18, 2018 (UTC)

Hey DeldiRe, Thanks for all of your hard work finding the pictures for all of the pages! :) I was chugging along yesterday updating systems and planets until I ran into Kadara and hit a brick wall. You weren't kidding about "soooooo much work to do!". Kadara fixes led to Aya, then Voeld, then Elaaden, then Eos, then Havarl. Those pages had SO MUCH work to do on them. I forgot to do H-047c last night so guess what's on the menu first thing today??? Oh great, another bunch of fixes. :) After that, I'll go back to fixing systems. After that, I'll go back to fixing mission pages and creating the reward tables. As long as something else shiney doen't catch my A.D.D. attention and I go off on another tangent. :) -- GS877 (talk) 16:51, March 20, 2018 (UTC)

Still working on planets, I hope to finish tomorrow. Thank you for the review. For the reste, we need editors, where can we find them?? :)--DeldiRe (talk) 16:29, March 21, 2018 (UTC)

HyperGuardian Armor

Hey DeldiRe, I saw you started the armor update. Good call to change to generic and add redirects. I thought about that yesterday but didn't do it. I did see an issue though. On HyperGuardian, you changed the page to get rid of the mid word capital G. I also thought this was a mistake but I made sure to look at in-game to determine if it was lowercase or upper case. The name is all caps so that doesn't help but the description of the item lists it as a capital G. I've attached a pic of a youtube screengrab. I'll put it here for a little but and then once you've had a chance to see it, I'll remove the pic and link. (I hate useless links and pointless pics. :) ).

As in-game takes, precedent, I think we should revert back to the cap G mid word. Unless I missed something totally obvious. Feel free to roast me alive if I made a mistake. :) -- GS877 (talk) 18:53, March 26, 2018 (UTC)

Let's go back to in-game :) --DeldiRe (talk) 19:39, March 26, 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for doing all of the work for the extra redirect pages. :) I removed the link and I'll be deleting the photo. Doesn't meet MOS and it was just for a quick view.
I went through the MEA armor page to put them to generic. I think that when the photos are up, the level I pic should go into the small boxes on that page. That's more of a generic page that links out to all of the specific armor pages. They will be small pics anyways due to the small size of the boxes (like 25-30px) so not much detail will show. I'll add all of those links when the pics are up. Those ones will show a 25px until pic is available and I think it looks bad to have those there for a long time. (Otherwise I would totally add in all of the links right now). -- GS877 (talk) 20:01, March 26, 2018 (UTC)

It was so lonely here. So awfully lonely. And quiet. NO, I'm not talking to myself, <shush, he's going to hear us>, I mean YOU'RE BACK. :)

Btw, I was going to send you a message about the Elaaden Outpost / New Tuchanka page. I finished Elaaden a few days ago so now all of the links are in place.

The bad thing is that there is no [ [Elaaden Outpost] ]. I put that link in all of the places where it is called out.

Technically, according to the in game text in the Codex the outpost and colony together are named New Tuchanka. When you create the outpost, a new addition is added to the codex.

A sweltering landscape with rising humidity, Elaaden is home to the outpost New Tuchanka, which is a cooperative venture between the Initiative and the krogan colony. (Founded by Nakmor Morda, Pathfinder Ryder; Mayor Kariste Archana elected.)

I thought that we should use the page you have created in your sandbox as the New Tuchanka page, and perhaps create a small subheader section called Elaaden Outpost that explains that.

The Elaaden outpost is next to the colony of New Tuchanka but for all intents and purposes they are the same. When you go to the in-game map and are located in the colony, it shows as "New Tuchanka".

I can then have the redlinks for Elaaden Outpost point to that subheader and then everything is clean and nice.

What do you think DeldiRe? --GS877 (talk) 21:16, April 28, 2018 (UTC)

Hey DeldiRe,
Are you ok with me copying over the Outpost Elaaden page from your sandbox page to the New Tuchanka page? I would then create the redirect to the subheader for 'Elaaden Outpost' so that the 7 existing redlinks would go away. --GS877 (talk) 01:35, May 7, 2018 (UTC)
Hey DeldiRe,
Any feedback on moving the page?
Thanks, --GS877 (talk) 05:06, May 11, 2018 (UTC)
Hello GS877, sorry for the late answer but I was on vacations :). No problem for me to move the page and for you message above (elaaden outpost & new tuchanky vs new tuchanka as a HUB), I wanted to do the same as you proposed. Only one page seems good with a chapter about the outpost. I will try to resume my edits but I have a shit load of work IRL for now. :( --DeldiRe (talk) 09:39, May 13, 2018 (UTC)
Hey DeldiRe, I understand being busy IRL. At least you were able to take a vacation and get a little relaxation. :)
I moved the page and will create the redirect for the Elaaden Outpost page. I'll make a few minor fixes to pages to reflect the update. Take care of what you need to take care of and I'll keep chugging away at the pages. --GS877 (talk) 16:57, May 13, 2018 (UTC)

Translation Question

Hey DeldiRe,

A quick question for you. On the Strike Teams page that you wrote, in the Strike_Teams#Effectiveness_and_Chance_of_Success section, there is a word on the second row (and in two other places). Effectiveness MALUS.

I saw this once before months ago and forgot to ask at the time.

I tried to do a google translate search for the word to see if this translates into English as a specific word but I couldn't get the word to translate. I get Latin sometimes or other words about insurance premiums in Spanish.

I think the word in English should be PENALTY from the context around the word and the subsequent two places that the word malus was used.

Is this the word that you were looking to use? I changed the three places in that section that the word was used but I will gladly change it to a different word if that isn't the word/meaning you intended.

Can you let me know what language this word is from? I'm curious.

Thanks for your help. :) --GS877 (talk) 04:32, May 20, 2018 (UTC)

Hey GS, it means indeed Penalty :) Thank you for the changes!--DeldiRe (talk) 06:37, May 20, 2018 (UTC)
Thanks DeldiRe. :)

The New Articles

Hey DeldiRe,

Did you read the fascinating new articles that showed up late this evening? I never knew all of that stuff was in Mass Effect. You learn something new everyday.

I'm still giggling. :)

Yes, it's totally juvenile and a huge pain in the ass to undo that crap. Who puts the 1960's Batman theme music on a page as the text and then writes a profoundly profane but accurate game specific page title? Someone with too much free time.

I've not seen this style of vandalism before. This seems to be a heavy amount. I saw you tried to stop them but it seems almost like a bot or something else doing this. I saw someone else tried to undo the edits as well and it just redid them as fast as they were undone. I'm sure Temp will nuke them when he sees it in the morning.

I wonder what he will write for the block note. He gets creative sometimes. I liked the last one where he used the super long words that no one has EVER used to describe the blowhard moron that keeps sockpuppeting accounts.

I wonder, do those pages count as zero content pages? Should they have stubs templates on them? :) --GS877 (talk) 09:20, June 7, 2018 (UTC)

I guess that he has gender issues and that he has a strange relation with Kai Leng... I'm sure he gets wet dreams with him or somthing like that. I hope he can be treated, I mean by a specialist doctor IRL. --DeldiRe (talk) 12:55, June 7, 2018 (UTC)

Remnant Decryption Puzzle Guide

Hey DeldiRe,

I saw you had created the starting of a sandbox for the puzzle decryption and I was thinking of creating a page myself. I took what was already on the Remnant page and turned it into the guide page. I used your wording as guide implies more than just the solutions or just the mechanics but a "whole" subject page.

I'll add in all of the photos/links as soon as I can get the sizing right. I want them to all look good and I won't know how that is until I line them all up. Not sure yet which will look the best.

Fell free to work over anything that you see on the page. I think it covers most everything but I may be missing something glaringly obvious. Extra sets of eyes are always a good thing. :)

I may put in some redirects such as Decryption puzzle, Remnant Decryption Puzzle, etc.

I was also thinking of add this to the Andromeda navbox guide as "Puzzles". I didn't want the whole phase as it seems to too long but I'll see what works the best. --GS877 (talk) 21:07, July 19, 2018 (UTC)

I think I got everything in place. All the pics look pretty good, I tried to keep the wording/description below each pic a certain way. I added Remnant Decryption Puzzles to the navbox. It fits well and some are required to complete the game so I put it in the first line. (See Dialogue at the bottom for an example.) Which reminds me I need to put the navbox on the page. Just did it. :)
Line 1 - mission. Line 2 - description. Line 3 - No override.
For description line - missions with multiple puzzles, I put a map location and "monolith" if that was the puzzle location, vault if it was the main vault, and puzzle if it didn't match those two. I then tried to list what it was. Door, console, relic, container. That way if you are the reader looking at it you'll understand what it is you are going to be looking for. Monoliths are always a console so that was just the location and monolith. Vault to let you know where it was and the type. Anything else was puzzle and type. The only exception was the Remnant Relic because that is what the exact in game text is for that object and it is different than anything else that has a puzzle. All of the other ones follow the same pattern. I tried to keep the wording short so that it stayed on a single line.
I tried to keep it short so it didn't get bloated and look bad. If the reader wants more on the specifics, I put that line about referring to the mission for more details. No sense in recreating the entire mission section under each pic.
Let me know what you think and feel free to tear apart. I tried to use in-game text and think about what someone coming to the page as a visitor would be looking for. I need to understand mechanics, or I want to know about all of the puzzles possible, or is there a puzzle I'm missing on Voeld, etc. --GS877 (talk) 23:54, July 19, 2018 (UTC)
Hey GS, you work so fast!! I will check your article to see if it's complete. I will also move the overview and put it into the Remnant page as it is 'lore' and not game mechanism suited for a guide.
I agree with your approach of keeping it simple and linking to the relevant page when needed. --DeldiRe (talk) 08:17, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
Hey DeldiRe,
I saw your edits and I switched up the colors. The blue was very dark and the grey seemed bland almost white. I went with colors that showed up well on the dark background.
I'm having an issue with the spacing when it is set to 3 pics wide.
There are 4 lines below each pic.
  • Mission
  • Puzzle type / location
  • Reward type
  • Override - Only the two with no over ride should have text here. Otherwise it looks too busy with Override in multiple places.
The last line will be blank except for the two that have "no override". When the pics are three across and set to center, using extra breaks doesn't work. The text doesn't change to put the extra blank line so the text lines up. Only when it is set to left and 4 wide does it space correctly.
I like the extra space between the sections as well for those ones that don't have the no override in them. that's why I put extra breaks on those ones.
Before I switch them up, was there a reason that you went with center and three wide? I thought the 4 wide looked pretty good. Clean. If they are too big, I can reduce the pics down a little bit and the text to 0.8 and make the 4 wide a bit smaller. I wanted to ask first before I undid work that you put into place. Thanks in advance. :) --GS877 (talk) 10:13, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
I left the Eladden section 4 wide with the spacing as an example so you could see what it looked like. --GS877 (talk) 10:16, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
Good choice for the colors, I think that all pictures in center is more user friendly but we can still change that. The 4 wide is problematic as you can't see every pics on all screen and you have to scroll to see the last pic. We can either reduce the size of each pictures or go for lines of 3 pics.--DeldiRe (talk) 11:23, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
If you have time, we could discuss this point on the chat!--DeldiRe (talk) 11:30, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
I gotta get some sleep DeldiRe. It's 7:30am and I've been awake all night long. I was supposed to go to bed 5 hours ago. Just 5 more minutes turned into 5 hours. This wikia is like an electronic drug addiction. Just a little bit more, a little bit more... :) I'll make some versions in my vault later when I wake up and I'll let you tell me how small is good enough (or which version is the best). 3 & 1 for the 4 pic planets just gnaws at my mind. It looks off. All of the other ones are symmetric but those 4 pic ones. I'd almost rather it be 2 & 2. :) I'll make some versions like I said and let you tell me the best one. --GS877 (talk) 11:37, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
I made it 2 and 2, it looks good. I will now edit the relevant mission pages for consistency.--DeldiRe (talk) 11:39, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
I swear I'm going to bed. Just 5 more minutes (3 hours later). The two and two looks like a lot of open empty landscape. I'll see what I can do in the vault making it smaller. I'll have you tell me which is best based on what you visually see. It'll be an easy thing to make. A little bit of copy paste. I'll try several versions. Smaller pics, smaller text, combos of those, etc. Now, I'm really going to close the laptop... :) --GS877 (talk) 11:50, July 20, 2018 (UTC)

Are you back?

Hey DeldiRe,

Are you back? I remember you saying you were crazy busy and had to step away for a bit. It's been awhile since I saw you.

Anything else new you are going to work on? Anything existing you are looking to fix / add /update to? --GS877 (talk) 11:24, July 20, 2018 (UTC)

I'm still very busy but I wanted to do some stuff to help you. I don't have many ideas right now but could you indicate me where I can help?--DeldiRe (talk) 11:27, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
I was wondering what you were going to work on so I could help you. :) I'm almost done with missions for grammar and icons/links. After that I'm pretty much done. --GS877 (talk) 22:11, July 20, 2018 (UTC)

Mission Pages

Hey DeldiRe,

I don't think that the extra text underneath the pics on mission pages is needed. It's redundant. The text above in the mission lists the details and there is a link that says "For the puzzle solution, click here". I did that so that those not wanting the spoiler could click to the bottom to see the pic. That way the flow of the mission wasn't broken up and I didn't have to keep putting the spoiler tag. If they are reading the text in that portion of the mission and then click the link to go to the bottom, it's just the same info.

Rather than try to fix them, I should go to bed. I just wanted to let you know before you fixed all 21 pics. See 5 more minutes. Just 5 more minutes. :) --GS877 (talk) 11:45, July 20, 2018 (UTC)

Agree but I think we should at least have a nicer layout. The text with the reward is maybe a but redundant but doesn't seems like a problem and it is way better layout than the raw picture :)--DeldiRe (talk) 11:53, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
The more I looked at it, the more you were right. I went with a little bit larger pic at 225 because there was space on most of thee mission pages and I removed some of the extra breaks as these were for spacing on the puzzles page.
I left the four pics on Restoring a World alone until we can figure out the 4 pic wide question. If we go 170 0.8em center (or whatever looks the best on the Vault page), I'll switch to that instead of 2 x 2. --GS877 (talk) 22:16, July 20, 2018 (UTC)

Armor Page Response

Hey DeldiRe,

AWAKE! Well kinda. I saw your armor page question. The quick answer to your question is "No, the infoboxes won't go three wide nicely." Here is the long answer (and I tested this for the better part of several days before giving up).

  • You can go three wide with a <gallery>. Trouble is that there is a horizontal slider bar because the infoboxes are just too wide. You can't scale the size of an infobox.
  • You can make a table three wide like we did with the puzzles pics but again a slider bar.
  • You could change the fundamental nature of the infobox in the coding to change the infobox width from 270px (or whatever the stock stuck size is) but it means a change to ALL armor infoboxes. If you do this though, you have to make lots of custom infoboxes and it can be a pain. I was able to do this for the augmentations infobox but those were a small symbol, each one was going to be the same, and they were only one wide. The more I learned about advanced infobox design, the less and less it became a good option.
  • Changing the infobox width meant that all of the text would have to shrink below the pic and would look bad because of text wrapping. There isn't a lot of real estate in that box and squishing it horizontally meant more vertical width and just bad looking.
  • I tried changing images sizes to get the infobox to switch but it wouldn't (lots and lots and lots of times.)

No matter how many different ways I tried, the 3 wide infoboxes either went off the page into a slider or they went two wide and then one down the side.

I didn't like the slider. It was bad in my opinion. I knew I was RIGHT on the edge of making all three fit but that meant mobile devices and other browsers would turn them into an slider bar anyways. I think that looks bad and you can't compare on screen the best.

The benefit of two and then one down the side is that there was a WHOLE lot of blank space where the 2 wide are sitting now whereas before when the infoboxes were stacked one on top of each other vertically. Changing to 2 wide and 1 down the side filled those in nicely. You would see the table and the three pics clustered around the easily enough. It was about making sure someone could look at all three easily and would work well on other devices.

If I changed the 3 wide ones, then the pages with 2 wide ones would have changed as well (if I fiddled with infoboxes).

Go to Pathfinder Armor and look at history of all of my edits from May 8, 2018 to May 9, 2018. The 00:49 edit shows the 3 wide problem. The other edits show the vertical stack and all of my unsuccessful attempts to fix the issue. In the end, I went with 2 wide then 1 on the right side to use space the best and have cleaner look. I would have loved to have had 3 wide but infoboxes are EVIL!. :)

Hopefully that helps fill in for you all of the ways I tried to fix the issue. The slider bar was SO annoying. It was SO close but to no avail. If it were pics, I could scale them all day long with no issue. In the end, I figured I would just have to live with not 3 wide or have bad sliders. --GS877 (talk) 19:29, July 20, 2018 (UTC)

Hi, there.
Haven't read all en detail, but perhaps this is a start … -- UserCCCSig -- You talkin' to me? -- cCContributions -- 20:35, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
I just KNEW you'd find a solution CompleCCity. :) I tried for days but it was beyond me. I searched everything and even tried really advanced stuff but it just wouldn't work for me.
Fine. I'll go fix them all. -- Mumbles the whole way kicking stones on the ground...stupid infoboxes and stupid formatting... -- :)
It'll only take me a little bit and I'll get them switched over.--GS877 (talk) 20:43, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
There's still the shadow at the right that indicates, there's soon to be a scroll bar. Doesn't look really good, yet.
Padding doesn't work for minimizing the margins between the columns (infoboxes). Perhaps the IBs have some CSS coding that defines a fixed outer margin. Wait, trying something … no, didn't work. But I'm sure, there's some trick do decrease that space further … Just wanted to say, don't go over many pages now and start to implement these changes until DeldiRe and perhaps even Tempeditor have taken a look at it. Just an advice. :) -- UserCCCSig -- You talkin' to me? -- cCContributions -- 21:21, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
Hey CompleCCity,
It only took a few minutes to swap out. Only 6 or 7 pages. If it had been like 60 weapons pages then I would hold off. I can easily undo the 6 or 7 back to the 2 x 1 style if needed. They look so nice in a row. So nice, so nice...
I had done some work with the infoboxes in changing the height sizes for the {{Infobox augmentation}} so that the pic would stay smaller (and not auto fill the infobox) but I never delved into changing the width. That was a level even beyond what I was blindly stabbing in the dark to create the smaller pic size for the height. From what I had learned, it is possible but you should really think about it before making non-standard infoboxes. There were clear warnings. :) Every single one has to be tailored to the exact pic size according to my research. If your pic sizes vary even a little bit, so will your infobox. Then the infoboxes won't be the same size and line up well. There were code snippets to do really advanced autosizing stuff but I stopped when I got a centered augmentation pic that was the small size I wanted and the infobox worked. I didn't want to have to go back and change all the pics and mess around trying to make infoboxes all the same height and width (if I could even get the code to work).
There were issues as well because of the multiple <gallery> image format. I think I tried for a bit but I would get one pic to work, but the multiple images wouldn't work inside the infobox. I was trying to do too many advanced functions inside of advanced functions with zero comprehension of the subject matter. I could see the patterns and use the code to a certain degree from other sources but it just became a losing battle. :) I just want three picture thingys to line up. They refuse. You may not have your wish. Ok, I'll settle for 2 x 1. --GS877 (talk) 21:44, July 20, 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for the help Complexity!--DeldiRe (talk) 06:47, July 21, 2018 (UTC)

Vault Storage

Hey DeldiRe,

As promised, I made some 4 wide mock ups in my vault location. User:GS877/Vault Storage (See edits history on 7/20/2018 for all of the vault mockups)

I think that the 170 wide, center, 0.8em looks pretty good on my device. Not too small and there is lots of extra space on the sides without being wasted dead space.

Let me know which one of those I made you think works the best. :) --GS877 (talk) 20:07, July 20, 2018 (UTC)

.New Bitmap Image--DeldiRe (talk) 06:36, July 21, 2018 (UTC)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I guess it's back to 2 X 2. :) I'll fix the elaaden puzzles back to match the eos style. You can delete the pic. That was a good way to show me. As long as I could see what you were seeing then I could clearly know the problem. We would have to be the equivalent of 3 wide to be ok for spacing. That's just too small in my opinion trying to smash down 4 pics. Better to leave them bigger and easy to see.
Side Note - looks like you already fixed the elaaden section. Nevermind. :)
I'll empty the vault as well. There is a copy stored in history of every change I ever made and I keep the vault empty unless I'm working on something. --GS877 (talk) 07:18, July 21, 2018 (UTC)

Minor Correction

Hey DeldiRe,

You had an edit today to change the % for your MEA Armor project. There is an issue with the fix. It looks like you put a letter "O" instead of a zero "0" for the second digit. 10O% vs. 100%. Just happened to see it and wanted to let you know. If it was on a talk page I would fix with your prior permission but that one is on your profile page and unless I have your permission for that, I didn't want to run afoul of the rules. Even if it is a small change. --GS877 (talk) 17:51, July 22, 2018 (UTC)

A Quick Note

Just wanted to say Thank You. :) --GS877 (talk) 20:20, July 23, 2018 (UTC)

For what?--DeldiRe (talk) 23:23, July 23, 2018 (UTC)

Great Work!

Hey DeldiRe,

Great work on the characters for the Elaaden outpost. You are so much better at creating the story style POV than myself.

Keep up the good work! :) --GS877 (talk) 18:53, August 3, 2018 (UTC)

I'm really not that good! But I will keep working. Thank you for your fixes as English isn't my mother tongue. --DeldiRe (talk) 19:07, August 3, 2018 (UTC)
I'll gladly look over anything you would like me to look over. It only takes a few minutes working together to get the best outcome for the wiki. You did the hard work, I'm just the person looking over your should going "You missed the s, or that should be a comma..." :)
Your English is much better than any foreign language I know. I can insult your mother in German and ask about where to find an ink pen. I can tell you some Spanish phrases dealing with colors and the devil but that's about it. Diablo Azul. Blue devil. Rio rojo. Red river. I even know how to say you're beautiful in Bosnian. SUPER useful things to know. :) --GS877 (talk) 19:41, August 3, 2018 (UTC)

i will still be replacing your uploads at some point in the future
